Senor Chang’s Sad Inner Tiger
“Senor Tigre, Destroyer of Women, back from another recent sexual conquest,” inquires Starburns El Star Prince (Dino Stamatopoulos) of the character played by his Spanish professor, Senor Chang (Ken Jeong) before the absurd concoction that is Abed (Danny Pudi) and Starburns’ second attempt at their assignment continues.
Star Prince is still nursing a broken heart and El Tigre takes every opportunity to tease him about it. At a soiree thrown by the Spanish El Diablo for his 15-year-old girlfriend (the age of consent in Spain is 13, apparently, according to Senor Chang), Star Prince’s ex-wife returns – plastered out of her mind – and further enabled by El Tigre until the entire video becomes a giant metaphor for Senor Chang’s psychological approach to women.
It’s certainly more abstract than the first part, but even in those four minutes it contained a healthy dose of disarming laughter, proving that “Community” is as unpretentious as it is funny.
And based on the steady streak since the winter hiatus, the laughs are expected to keep coming.
