Hill is Back

Leaked online last month Lauryn Hill’s latest song “Repercussions” has cracked into the top 100 billboard chart. Hill seems to be preparing for a comeback and is currently recording music for her second solo studio album.

If the songs on her latest project are anything like “Repercussions” then longtime fans are in for a musical treat and new admirers of her lyrical style will be sure to jump on the bandwagon. This track fills a void that has been in the music business for a long time. One can only listen to so much Beyonce before they miss the soul-searching roots of R&B.

That’s what Hill’s track has – a familiarity that is reminiscent of those songs your parents listened to back in the day. While listening to it you get touches of ‘70s soul. It’s the underlining percussion that drives the song and companioned with the lyrics makes for a narrative work that wets the appetite for more.

Once officially released as a single definitely get your hands on it. It will be well worth the effort.
