What Happened on True Blood this Week?
Season three, Episode eight: “Night on the Sun”, of HBO’s hit vampire series True Blood, was the most disappointing episode of the season. It wasn’t bad, nor was it good, it was just disappointing, and the reason is because nothing actually happened.
This season has brought on a newer, more romantic, angle to the show, leaving it without enough violence, gore, and edgy-ness as it had in the past two seasons. However all of that seemed like it was going to change, from the episode before last, called “Hitting the Ground,” in which the bloodshed seemed endless, and the plot-twists were plenty.
With “Hitting the Ground” being the best episode of the season, it was expected, or at least hopeful, that this past weeks episode would continue to quench our thirst for thrill. Unfortunately it did not.
After watching “Night on the Sun,” it’s hard to remember what even happened, and the reason for that is because nothing happened during the episode worth remembering. There are a few things that may stick out, but it’s all so cloudy.
To give a quick recap, Sookie breaks up with Bill, only to get back with him in the end, and Eric kills Russel’s lover Thalbot. Other than that there is nothing worth speaking of.
Hopefully, next weeks episode will be great and this episode was just season filler. The show has been and may still continue to be great, and with four episode left, that’s four hours to turn around the most boring season of the show.
