When a Whore’s a Whore and a Pimp’s a Whore Too

Episode Commentary: The Middle East is Complicated

With another sexy client in Samara [Mozhan Marno], an interesting situation involving hummus and Tanya finding a way to relax, this episode is the most action-packed of the season.

From the start, Ray is forced to deal with drama, caused mainly by the always sexy and devious Lenore. However, rather than tackle the situation head on, he keeps hush to Tanya, the one person who deserves to know the situation more than anyone else. Luckily, Tanya has her own things she needs to keep quiet about and Ray ends up getting a new lawnmower for his troubles.

This is all bound to blow up sooner than later, but for right now, seeing Lenore looking to cause trouble and Tanya going totally outside her box is without a doubt worth the price of admission. Without giving too much away, you might even be shocked at seeing what Tanya gets herself into.

With all of this going on, it’s nice [well, not literally] to see Jessica dealing with a nasty rash due to stress. What will happen between her and her husband Ronnie? Another situation worth watching is the one between Mike and Francine. Having no idea that he’s a whore, it’s going to be more than intriguing to see what happens when he finds out this isn’t the special relationship he was waiting for.

More developments include Yael and Howard’s marriage hitting the fan, with Ray ironically playing both sides. Sexy, but tough, Yael is pissed and Howard has no one to turn to, forcing him to share a beer with his hated neighbor, Ray. Where this situation ends up could get steamy as well. If that wasn’t already enough, especially for a half-hour show, there’s a small scene between Liz, which not only gives her character more depth, but shows that Ray is starting to learn how to become better at his job.

The question remains however if he can be as good as he needs to be to rebuild his life.

Nevertheless, watching him try to put the pieces back together this week was a treat.
