Ultimate Smokey

While helping create the Motown empire Smokey Robinson with his group, the Miracles,  made some great music. Rich harmonies and clever lyrics are staples of music that will last forever (Who else could have used the song “Tears of a Clown” and include the apt reference to the opera “Pagliacci?“) and every song on “The Ultimate Collection,” has an over-abundance of each – in a good way.

Tunes such as “Shop Around,”  “My Girl Has Gone” and lesser known tunes (“Choosey Beggar”) will have you singing along, or dancing up a storm. Whether you remember “Going to a Go-Go” from when it was first released or if you are hearing it for the first time it will feel fresh and new. That’s what great music does – it transports you to places where you’ve been and where you want to be.

Essentially, this music is timeless and to get these recordings for so small a price will not only enrich your mp3 player, but your soul.
