Review Fix’s Favorite Superbowl XLV Ads

The Superbowl is perhaps the biggest night in American sports, but it’s also the most watched event on television every year. As a result, the ads you see during the pigskin classic are incredibly important for the few companies that manage to secure the precious time to display their products.

Here are the select few that really hit the mark:

Honorable mentions: Kim Kardashian’s sexy sketchers spot, Coca-Cola’s Dragon Animation spot, Snicker’s ad featuring Richard Lewis and Roseanne and Volkswagon’s striped Beetle spot.

5: Doritos “Best Part”:
At first you didn’t know where this commercial was going, but seeing the crazed Dorito-holic lick the fingers of his friend made it instantly memorable and hilarious. Ripping off the pants of a co-worker and smelling them afterwards wasn’t a bad follow-up either.

Can you make like the main character of this ad and say “Doritos” too?

There’s a reason why legions of people wanted those chips after the big game and it wasn’t to smell them, it was to eat them. Why? Because this ad works.

4: Pepsi Max “First Date”: This ad works because this is what really goes through a man’s head during a date. And yes, women can read minds.

3: Doritos “Pug Attack”: Unlike the company’s other commercial that kept you out of the loop for a few seconds, you knew exactly what was coming here, you just wondered how- how would the adorable pug get to the Doritos?

2: Teleflora “Help Me Faith”:
Teleflora didn’t need country rock goddess Faith Hill to make this ad work, the writing did it all by itself. Seeing her sultry eyes and wavy blonde hair didn’t hurt the message at all though.

1: Best Buy “What’s a Bieber?”:
Any commercial that manages to get both Justin Bieber and Ozzy Osbourne to make fun of themselves in just 30 seconds does too many things right to ignore.
