VIGILANTE ACTION PIC CRIMSON LEAPS OFF THE COMIC BOOK PAGE AND INTO THE FIST-FLYING FLESH

It may have taken a year and a half to write and shoot Little Sicily Production’s first full-length feature, but it was time well spent for two young writers, a nascent director, and a diverse cast of actors whose work has resulted in Crimson. The hard-hitting indie action pic, executive produced by film veteran A. J. Verel and produced by Dale Rugg and Robert Marsh, was shot on location in iconic Niagara Falls, New York.

Co-written by Ken Cosentino and Michael Shimmel, and also directed by the 22-year-old Cosentino, Crimson showcases the story of down-on-his-luck Walter Levitte, a comic book writer whose ink-and-paper protagonist is a crime fighter called Crimson. After a freak industrial accident, Levitte assumes the persona of his fictional character to become a larger-than-life vigilante who metes out his own brand of justice against a ruthless gang trying to take over his home town.

Remarks Cosentino on the making of the film: “I started writing Crimson when I was 19. Little by little, friends and professionals got involved, and in the end we turned out a movie that grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go. Our cast did an amazing job—the film’s fight scenes and universal themes will put action and comic book fans in the seats and keep them there, right on the edge.”

Completing Crimson’s core cast are lead Mike Leszczynski as Walter Levitte/Crimson; James Ventry, a professional boxer-turned-actor in the role of Crimson’s arch-nemesis Tommy; veteran Hollywood stuntman A.J. Verel as Saint Constantine; and film and television thespians Dale Rugg and Bill Kennedy.
