Best TNA Stars to Never Win the World Title

TNA is a place where WWE bottom-feeders go to get a second lease on their careers and old-timers get one last big run, but indie stars usually get their first taste of a national promotion there. Just ask CM Punk and Austin Aries. Over the company’s decade of work, they’ve given several guys runs with the world title that many may not have expected. Even their current World Champion, Bully Ray, never got a chance to truly thrive as a singles performer anywhere else.

In this exclusive list, Review Fix counts down the best performers in TNA that have yet to win the company’s world title.

5: Frank Kazarian: A former Tag Team and X-Division star, Kazarian has gotten several big pushes, but never the one that cemented him as a singles star. Although he’s a fantastic worker, Kazarian lacks the charisma needed for a company to truly get behind him. A shame too considering some of the epics he had in the company.

4: Petey Williams: The Canadian Destroyer is easily the coolest finisher in the industry and Williams is more charismatic than Kazarian, but Williams’ size limits what he could do in the ring with larger opponents. If he added a few moves or a submission maneuver he could apply to a big man, Williams would easily be a World Champion by now.

3: Eric Young: This guy is smaller too, but he’s got an impressive arsenal of maneuvers and a load of charisma. Bad booking is the main reason why Young hasn’t had the World Title around his waist. He’s held basically every other title in the company as well, which makes one believe that eventually, especially if the fans embrace him again, that he’ll get an opportunity.

2: Matt Morgan: This guy has been on the cusp of getting a major league push for years, but injuries and contract issues have always held him back. Morgan can more than handle himself on the microphone and has a decent repertoire of moves. He’s just missing that one intangible to make him different from every other big man in the sport. Although the Carbon Footprint works for him, maybe it’s time for a new finisher.

1: Christopher Daniels: A travesty that the Fallen Angel has never held the World title. A fantastic worker who has grown into an excellent heel, Daniels has plenty of versatility. Even in the face of injuries, Daniels has helped keep the company afloat. Nothing against James Storm and Robert Roode, but Daniels is in another league and deserved a run with the belt before they did.
