TNA Impact Wrestling Coverage: A Blast from the Past

With no Bobby Lashley, Bobby Roode or Eric Young in in-ring action this past week, you’d expect the show to be a bore, but with an awesome six-man X-Division elimination match and a Main Event that featured The Hardy Boys vs. Team 3D, Impact Wrestling found a way to get it done.

Although the lack of an X-Division and TNA World title match did hurt the significance of the show, the awesome, one of a kind house show mentality gave Impact Wrestling a fun feel. It’s certainly not going to work every week, but it was a blast from the past this time around.

Matches:

X-Division Elimination Match for #1 Contender’s Shot: Low-Ki vs. Manik vs. Homicide vs. Zema Ion vs. Tigre Uno vs. Crazy Steve: A wild X-Division encounter that saw Low-Ki and Homicide make it to the finals. After a few sequences of back and forth action, Low-Ki countered the Gringo Killer into the Ki Crusher for the win.

Gunner w/Samuel Shaw vs. Mr. Anderson: A no-contest after Shaw got involved to calm down the two allies. Anderson still has a grudge against Shaw, so expect them to settle the score this week on Impact.

Fatal Four Way: TNA Knockouts Champion Gail Kim vs. Taryn Terrell vs. Angelina Love vs. Velvet Sky: Terrell performed well in the four-way, but it was Kim, who took advantage of an argument between Sky and Love to finish off Sky with the Eat Defeat to keep the Knockouts title. With Love and Sky now fighting amongst themselves, Terrell and Kim can now have the match every one wants to see.

Bully Ray and Devon vs. Matt and Jeff Hardy: Bully Ray and Devon got the clean win with the 3D, but did the Hardy’s make them work for it or what? Unlike Team 3D, who used many of their usual double-team maneuvers, the Hardy’s improvised more and proved they can still entertain in new ways. Overall, it was a solid match between two of the greatest tag teams of all time.
