NXT Takeover Coverage: Helluva Time

Between a surprising new face in Baron Corbin, the end of the Ascension’s reign as Tag Team Champions and the debut of Kenta, NXT Takeover satisfied. The conclusions of long-running feuds between Charlotte Flair and Bayley and Bull Dempsey and Mojo Rawley were entertaining while the antics of Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady added a breath of comic relief, rounding out quite possibly one of the best NXT events ever.

Matches:

Sin Cara and Kalisto vs. NXT Tag Team Champions The Ascension: Konnor and Viktor: The speed of Kalisto and Cara was always a step ahead in spite of some gritty brawling from The Ascension. After Sin Cara helped stop The Fall of Man, Kalisto hit Viktor with the Flipping Reverse DDT to win the titles.

CJ Parker vs. Baron Corbin: Whoa. This guy punched Parker in the mouth and then finished him off with a Modified Swinging Complete Shot.

Hair vs. Hair: Sylvester LeFort w/Marcus Louis vs. Enzo Amore w/Colin Cassady: After Cassady took out Louis on the outside Amore got the win Rollup. After the match and some hi-jinx, LeFort was able to escape and Louis was destroyed on ramp and got the hair cream bucket thrown on his head.

Bull Dempsey vs. Mojo Rawley: After the Avalanche, Dempsey got the win with an ugly top-rope Headbutt.

NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair vs. Bayley: Up until this point, this was the best match of the night. Flair was in control throughout, but Bailey fought her heart out. From her entrance to various kick-outs, Bailey told a wonderful story here. After Bailey kicked out of a sloppy Moonsault, Flair finished her off with The Natural Selection.

Fatal Four Way: NXT World Heavyweight Champion Adrian Neville vs. Tyler Breeze vs. Sami Zayn vs. Tyson Kidd: One of the best matches in NXT history, there was a record amount of signature moves, near-falls and high octane moments. Although it appeared Zayn had the win after the Helluva Kick on Kidd, Neville pulled the referee out of the ring before he took Zayn out of the match and took out Kidd with the Red Arrow for the win.
