TNA Impact Wrestling Power Rankings: Gold Rush Anyone?

Six entertaining matches, none featuring TNA Champions, highlighted a different type of Impact Wrestling this week that did more to develop the under-appreciated performers than the bonafide stars..

Check out this week’s TNA Impact Wrestling Power Rankings to see who earned a title shot of their choice following a pretty cool main event.

Honorable Mention: Tajiri: His win over the surging Robbie E. was a bit unexpected, but Tajiri, who many American fans have forgotten since his exodus from the WWE, is still able to turn in awesome performances. While his future in TNA is uncertain, he’s certainly still an engaging performer.

5: Gail Kim: She’s going to have her hands full with Havok next week on Impact, but if her past accomplishments say anything about her future, she’ll put in one of the best performances of her career. Already the top female worker in the business today, her encounter with Havok is exactly what the Knockouts division needs.

4: Abyss: His win over Sam Shaw this week was a dominant one. Could a push be in order?

3: Mr. Anderson: After he got the surprise win over Magnus earlier in the show, Anderson put in another solid performance in the five-way Main Event. Although he appears to be out of World Title contention, Anderson can still serve a huge role as an upper mid-card performer. If only TNA had a secondary title away from the X-Division. Anderson would be the perfect guy to hold that belt and perform with the company’s up and coming stars.

2: MVP: As long as Bobby Lashley holds on to the TNA World Heavyweight title, MVP will have power. A seasoned vet himself however, MVP appears ready to write his own story in the company.

1: Austin Aries: The fact that he’s able to give the 300-pound Knux the Brainbuster is one thing, but bottom line is that Aries is a guy who deserves another shot at the TNA World Heavyweight or X-Division titles. Great on the microphone and in the ring, it’s in TNA’s best interest to keep him on the show every week. Hopefully, his win at the Gold Rush main event is a step in that direction.
