2014 NYCC Coverage: Inside ‘Crazy Taxi: City Rush’

Sega’s VP of Digital Marketing Mike Evans breaks down Sega’s mobile game, their working relationship with WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan and their partnership with the Hailo app during the 2014 New York Comic Con. A brand new edition of one of the biggest cult classic games of all-time, “Crazy Taxi: City Rush” has plenty of gas left in its tank, with more featured content on the way.

Review Fix: For fans of the console version of Crazy Taxi, how will the mobile version strike their fancy?

Mike Evans: Our mobile game has the reckless driving and “beat the clock” mechanic that Crazy Taxi on console had, but was built from the ground up for mobile players. And the original designer, Kenji Kanno, was co-creator for this project so the integrity of the game, including gameplay and graphics, are fully intact. We think that it’s a great game for new and old fans alike.

Review Fix: What does it mean to have Hulk Hogan be a part of the game?

Evans: Hulk Hogan is a staple in pop-culture, and to have him included in the game furthers the game’s over-the-top attitude. Plus, who doesn’t like hearing Hulk’s trademark “Brother!” as you’re driving him around Bay City?
