WWE RAW Coverage: Ready for War

If Luke Harper’s Intercontinental Title win was the only thing that happened this week on RAW, it would have been a “good” show. But with easily the best match of Ryback’s career, the addition of Erick Rowan and Ryback to Team Cena and more drama to set up this weekend’s Survivor Series pay per view, this week’s episode of RAW was entertaining.

With “Grumpy Cat” as the guest star this week, it could have been much worse. Instead, it was a smooth show with a decent card and a nice finish. All in all, it was a good way to set up what appears to be a decent Survivor Series pay per view.

Matches:

Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler vs. Luke Harper: Before the bell rang, Seth Rollins nailed Ziggler with the Money in the Bank briefcase while Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble beat on him as well.Ziggler was resilient however, kicking out of a Big Boot and a Sit-Out Powerbomb. Staying alive, Ziggler hit the Jaw Breaker and the Fame-Asser to even things up. Harper fought back and nearly won with Swinging Side Effect Slam, but Ziggler kicked out again. Hitting the Super Kick following a counter of the Discus Lariat, Ziggler continued to fight. Ziggler looked primed to fight back some more, but after he countered a Powerbomb, he walked right into a Harper Discus Lariat for the loss. After the match, Rollins hit the Curb Stomp on Ziggler.

Adam Rose vs. Tyson Kidd w/Natalya Neidhart: Kidd won with the Sharpshooter after Rose was unable to get any help from his Bunny sidekick.

Ryback vs. Antonio Cesaro: Ryback was tough, but Cesaro went out of his way to make him look good. It wasn’t all Ryback though, as Cesaro hit a few Suplex variations, his signature lifting-European Uppercut, a nice Powerbomb and even an Elbow Drop, before Ryback made a comeback and hit the Meathook Clothesline and the Shellshock following a counter of the Neutralizer, for the win. Overall, with some solid back and forth and some shows of strength, this was a much better match than anyone could have expected.

United States Champion Alexander Rusev w/ Lana vs. Heath Slater: Slater talked a great game, but Rusev finished him off with a Super ice and the Accolade in a matter of seconds.

For a Shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Title: Sheamus vs. Big Show: Although there was a ton of back and forth, the action was slow-paced, making it a bit of a bore. Sheamus surprised when he kicked out a Chokeslam and even more so following an Electric Chair Drop. With both Sheamus and Show stunned, Rusev and Mark Henry hit the ring and decimated both competitors, with Rusev latching on the Accolade on Show and Henry putting Sheamus through the announce table with the World’s Strongest Slam.

Brie Bella vs. Nikki Bella: Nikki beat on her sister, who was dressed as AJ Lee, who was ringside. Just before Nikki could hit the Rack Attack, Lee interfered to allow Brie to win with the Rollup. After the match, Nikki beat on Brie, and Lee took advantage ad took out both Bellas.

Jimmy and Jey Uso and Los Matadores w/El Torito vs. WWE Tag Team Champions Goldust and Stardust and The Miz and Damien Sandow: A waste of 15 minutes as there were more spots than any logical wrestling action. Stardust got the win with the Dark Matter.
