NXT Power Rankings: Takeover Ready

The heat between Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville is hotter than ever and with a few other feuds simmering to an almost perfect boil, this week’s NXT did a solid job of setting up the next NXT Takeover event.

Check out this week’s NXT Power Rankings to see who shined the brightest in the promotion’s go-home show before their next big event.

Honorable Mention: Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks: This ironically is the best feud in female wrestling today. These two are set to have a fantastic match at Takeover for the NXT Women’s Championship and one that will be remembered for quite some time. Both are WWE ready as well, which will make the encounter even more special.

5: Simon Gotch and Aiden English: NXT’s top tag team to never win the title, they, like Sami Zayn, are primed to get the first real shot at gold. With some of the best vignettes in company history under their belt and being one of the best in-ring tandems in the promotion, they may surprise many at Takeover.

4: Baron Corbin: He keeps winning matches and it appears he’s set for a feud with Bull Demsey. With no matches lasting longer than a few seconds, he’s shown a lot, but in terms of versatility, he hasn’t shown nearly as much depth as other formerly-billed “beasts.” Can he defeat a less attractive alternative but just as dominant Bull Dempsey?

3: Finn Balor: The fans love him and he’s been dominant and flashy, after Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville, Balor is the next breakout star in the promotion.

2: Sami Zayn: He’s ready to take the mantle for Adrian Neville, but can he? Apparently no longer the “nice guy,” Zayn’s newfound killer instinct may serve him well at Takeover.

1: Adrian Neville: The NXT Champion, Neville will do whatever it takes to keep his title. Does that mean he’s going to turn full heel? Or is this his last stand as champion?
