WWE Royal Rumble Power Rankings: Reignin’ Supreme

A decent card, a wonderful main event for the WWE World Heavyweight title and a Royal Rumble that granted Roman Reigns his first ever shot at the WWE World Heavyweight title set the scene for a damn good Pay Per View that changes the battlegrounds in a big way.

Check out our Royal Rumble Power Rankings to see who starred in one of the biggest stages on the Road to Wrestlemania.

Honorable Mention: Antonio Cesaro and Tyson Kidd: Sure, it was just the Kickoff match, but these guys had a great match and are way more charismatic and technically proficient than both the Usos and The Miz and Damien Sandow. Add in their awesome new shirt and hope for some decent booking and they can be the breakout tag team of 2015. Vince McMahon said a few months ago Cesaro needed “something,” and the same has been said about Kidd before. Maybe this is their time.

5: The Ascension: Although it was far from a beautiful win, the strike-heavy tandem of Viktor and Konnor defeated the legendary New Age Outlaws in a much-needed statement win for the former NXT Tag Team champions. A few more of these and perhaps the duo won’t be hated by the WWE Universe.

4: Seth Rollins: Arguably his best performance yet, Rollins continues to prove he’s the top young heel in the business today. With the Money in the Bank briefcase still in his possession, Rollins’ World Heavyweight title aspirations haven’t been slashed just yet.

3: John Cena: The fans in Philly were against him from the get-go, but Cena had a wonderful match and nearly won the WWE World Heavyweight title on several occasions. Still the company’s top babyfaces, Cena is in a weird spot. He’s still the guy, but he’s not “the guy.” His pending feud with Alexander Rusev is also an engaging one and will keep him in an important storyline that fans care about.

2: Roman Reigns: Winning the Royal Rumble, Reigns will get a WWE World Heavyweight title shot against Brock Lesnar. While the crowd didn’t seem too excited by it, Reigns’ win definitely shakes up the title scene.

1: Brock Lesnar: If anyone has ever earned their nickname, it was Lesnar. A complete “Animal,” Lesnar fought through two of toughest opponents he’s ever faced and absolutely destroyed them, retaining the WWE World Heavyweight title and proving once again he’s one of the most dominant WWE World Heavyweight Champions, ever. Say what you want about his part-time schedule, but Lesnar sure gives you his best when it counts.
