WWE RAW Power Rankings: Cats and Jammers

With Wrestlemania right around the corner, you’d expect RAW to be all guns-a-blazon’, but ins site of the return of AJ Lee and a few cool segments, it lacked the fire needed to gets fans excited for the promotion’s biggest event of the year.

Check out this week’s RAW Power Rankings to see who kept this week’s RAW on track, even in the face of filler and a lack of solid in-ring action.

Conquered: Paul Heyman: How many guys have a manager that can cut promo like Heyman? From his ridicule of Lillian Garcia, to his Ronda Rousey reference, Heyman continues to probe he’s one of a kind.

The Intercontinental Title: It appears Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan have entered the Ladder match for the IC Title, which makes the division more entertaining than it’s been in years.

Numbers Not Needed: Jon Stewart:  In just a few minutes, Stewart made this week’s RAW interesting. Funny, yet surprisingly knowledgeable about wrestling, he was the type of guest star that the WWE needs more of.

Honorable Mention: John Cena: Faced with a scary notion of not being a part of Wrestlemania for the first time in a decade, Cena made quick work of Curtis Axel, but couldn’t make any headway in his continued pursuit of a United States title rematch with Alexander Rusev. Up against the wall again, it’ll be interesting how Cena can get himself back in the promotion’s biggest event.

5: Dean Ambrose: The frontrunner to take the Intercontinental Championship from current champ, Wade Barrett, Ambrose got another win over the former Nexus leader this past week on RAW, but will have his hands-full, thanks to Luke Harper and R-Truth’s inclusion in the IC Title ladder match at Wrestlemania. Regardless, you have to like the Lunatic Fringe’s chances.

4: Triple H: His promo work with Booker T this week did a good job of selling The Game’s encounter with Sting at Wrestlemania. The fact that Triple H decided to flex his muscle and “fire” Booker T from his announcing position on RAW made us hate The Cerebral Assassin just a little bit more. That’s exactly what it was supposed to do. Can he handle Sting at Wrestlemania? While 15 years ago Triple H would have stood little chance against WCW’s franchise player, 2015 is a completely different story.

3: AJ Lee: Her return definitely spices up the Divas Division and sets up an awesome (can we use that word for a Divas match?) encounter between her, Nikki Bella and Paige for the Divas title at Wrestlemania. While her future with the company is still shrouded in mystery, it’s awesome to see her back.

2: Seth Rollins: His “encounter” with Jon Stewart was a fun experience, while his match with Roman Reigns was another solid one that serves a purpose- getting Reigns to look as dominant as possible before Wrestlemania. Lets face it- real fans know Rollins is a future WWE Champion and that all of these segments and even jobs area part of the plan. A great heel, his recent falls shouldn’t be held against him. He’s got “it.”

1: Roman Reigns: Thanks to some great promo from Paul Heyman, that ironically puts Reigns over just as much as it makes him the defiant underdog, as well as a solid match with Seth Rollins, Reigns’ stock continues to rise, even if he’s not even a top ten worker in the company.
