Better Call Saul:Episode Recap: ‘Alpine Shepherd Boy

This episode of “Better Call Saul” was by far the funniest this season.

Ever since Jimmy pulled off a brilliant stunt by staging his own rescue mission by saving a man he paid from a billboard, he has been a busy lawyer, with plenty of clients. The only problem is that their presented cases are weirder than they are. Jimmy visits a billionaire who prints his own money, a woman who collects gnomes and a man who invented a device for his toilet bowl that has sexual implications.

We do find out more about Chuck‘s condition and the verdict is in, he seriously needs help. Jimmy, on the other hand, is considering practicing Elder law after he gets advice from Kim to do so. It is a fact that Jimmy McGill does have charm and he is very charismatic. His witty style to lure clients in can make him a successful lawyer. The problems he runs into however, stop him from becoming a successful attorney.

“Alpine Shepherd Boy” did have a few surprises. We got to see more of Mike along with an interesting story line that comes with it. There are several questions that are to be answered, such as who is the girl who he encounters as she stares at him with disappointment?, Could it be his daughter? Finally, why are there police officers knocking on his door while he sits back and watches his favorite black and white movies? Could they be cops he knew from Philly? It will be interesting to see the backstory of Mike Ehrmantraut evolve.

At the site, I'm a music, television and graphic novel kind of guy and that's what I'll be writing for the most part. Expect some book and music reviews as well though [insert demon horns here]. I grew up in Bensonhurst Brooklyn, the same neighborhood many of the best mafia films of our day were based on, idolizing guys like Robert Deniro, Martin Scorsese and Al Pacino. I'm also a big sports fan and follow the New York Yankees immensely.
