With Best in the World around the corner, you’d expect more of a rundown of the card, but this week’s episode of Ring of Honor did little aside from the contract signing between Jay Lethal and Jay Briscoe and the first loss of Moose.
Although the Tag Team main event was awesome and a testament to the type of performers ROH has, there was little else in terms of star power. Where is Roderick Strong? Where were the ROH Tag Team Champions? With a slim match card and little of a last push for Best in the World, this week’s ROH was ultimately solid when it could have been great.
Matches:
The Decade: Colby Corino and Adam Page w/BJ Whitmer vs. War Machine: Hanson and Rowe: Once again Whitmer forced Corino into the match and The War Machine hit him with a Nasty Tilt-A-Whirl Sideslam, a Backbreaker and Powerbomb, all while Page refused to tag in. The War Machine then finished off Corino with the Leg Drop From the top rope/Belly-to-Back Suplex combination. After the match, Steve Corino and Whitmer exchanged words.
Cedric Alexander vs. Moose w/ Veda Scott and Stokely Hathaway: Overall, this was an unspectacular match that saw Alexander do most of the heavy lifting. Alexander lasted longer than you’d think against the beast, thanks to strikes and a Tornado DDT and he even got the win after he stole a wrench from Moose (given to him by Scott) and nailed him with it for the win.
ACH and Matt Sydal vs. Naito and Hiroshi Tanahashi: A solid back and forth with a ton of offense. ACH held his own with Naito for a good chunk of the match and Sydal nearly finished things off until Tanahashi hit the German to even things up. After ACH nearly got the pin with the Clothesline on Takahashi, ACH almost got the win with a German Suplex of his own. After ACH was freed by Sydal from a Takahashi Texas Cloverleaf, ACH and Sydal got crazy, as ACH hit the Jumping Complete Shot, and Sydal hit the Shooting Star Press before Naito broke up the pin. With both opponents down, ACH missed the 450, allowing Takahashi to hit the Sling Blade and Frog Splash for the win.

Hickey Jr. is also a voice actor, having starred in the 2018 indie hit and 2019 Switch, PS4 and Xbox One release, The Padre (also serving as English language Story Editor), from Shotgun With Glitters. The sequel, The Padre: One Shell Straight to Hell was released in February 2021- Hickey also served as a Story Editor and Lead Voiceover performer. He has also done narration and trailers for several other titles including The Kaiju Offensive, Relentless Rex and Roniu’s Tale.
Hickey is also the lead voiceover performer on Mega Cat Studios’ upcoming title WrestleQuest, responsible for nearly 90 characters in the game, as well as Skybound's Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood, where he voices both Dracula and Renfield, as well as several other characters. He also stars in Ziggurat Interactive’s World Championship Boxing Manager 2, where he performs the VO of nearly every male character in the game. He also worked on the Atari VCS’s BPM Boy.
