Slightly Stoopid and Cloud 9 Adventures have announced the second edition of CLOSER TO THE SUN, a tropical concert vacation held over four nights at an all-inclusive resort surrounded by a beautiful Mayan landscape. After blowing away fans with an amazing first-year experience (view the 2014 recap video here), the event returns for a second year with a new round of artists to round out the bill. The 2015 lineup again features three performances by host band Slightly Stoopid, this time joined by SOJA, Iration, Pepper, and Ozomatli, playing two shows each.  In addition, special guests G. Love, Don Carlos, Karl Denson, and Ian Neville will be featured throughout the event with exclusive sit-ins and collaborations. Main performances will be held on a stage built on the beach, while late night parties will be held in an open-air palapa.

More than a series of concerts, this intimate event brings fans and performers together on a luxurious vacation where the nights are filled with performances held on the beach stage just steps away from guests’ accommodations, while the days consist of artist-hosted activities, excursions, beach games, and poolside performances. The unique setting allows casual artist interaction, artist-hosted workshops, activities and contests, as well as an autograph signing and impromptu jam sessions.

Situated on pristine beaches and tropical grounds, the Now Sapphire Resort offers all-inclusive, luxurious accommodations with an intimate vibe. Closer to the Sun is again partnering with charitable organization Positive Legacy, encouraging artists and fans to participate in a day of service and cultural connection in the community of Puerto Morelos as a way of giving back. Positive Legacy is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to integrate live music and service by taking actions that positively impact local communities and the environment. In addition to the day of service, a silent and a live auction will be held with all proceeds going to support the ongoing projects in the region. Guests will also be encouraged to bring school supplies and personal care products for the donation drive to benefit a local organization in need.

All-inclusive packages for returning Closer to the Sun guests can be booked during the presale on Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Following the pre-sale, there will be a general on sale beginning Thursday, May 28 at 2pm EST at www.closertothesun.com. An initial $250 per person deposit reserves a room with payment plans to break up additional costs.

Just over 400 rooms at Now Sapphire will be available for booking, with prices for the all-inclusive event starting at $1349 per person and oceanview rooms starting at $1699 per person.
