WWE RAW Coverage: Lesnar Back Strong, Rollins Looking for Plan B

Thanks to the charisma of Paul Heyman, John Cena, Kevin Owens and Bray Wyatt, as well as the in-ring prowess of Adrian Neville, this week’s RAW was a solid one, even if it was more a building block episode for Battleground.

With Seth Rollins’ attempt at mending The Authority’s fence a successful one and Lesnar’s promise to reclaim the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, this week’s RAW was definitely a step in a better direction.

Matches:

Kane vs. Dean Ambrose: A lengthy and boring match. At this point, why would you want to see these guys wrestle at a PPV? Ambrose looked primed to end the match with the Dirty Deeds, but Seth Rollins appeared and distracted Ambrose enough for Kane to hit a miserable-looking Chokeslam from the top rope to earn the win.

WWE Tag Team Champions The Prime Time Players Darren Young and Titus O’Neil vs. The Ascension, Viktor and Konnor: An engaging back and forth that Saw O’Neil and Young hit their signature maneuvers before Young won it with the Spinning Elbow and the Gut Check.

Roman Reigns vs. Sheamus: Another solid, but lengthy match that was often boring. Things eventually got spicy as Sheamus threw Reigns into the time keepers barricade and Reigns fought through the pain of three Irish Curse Backbreakers and the Texas Cloverleaf, but Reigns battled back hard. After a few elbows, Reigns hit the Samoan Drop and a Belly-to-Back Suplex before he nailed Sheamus with some offense, but before he could get the win, Bray Wyatt appeared on the Titantron and Reigns ran out on the match, looking for his new foe.

Adrian Neville vs. Kofi Kingston w/Xavier Woods and Big E. Langston: A quickie as Neville avoided the nonsense of The New Day and beat Kingston with the Red Arrow.

Wade Barrett vs. Zack Ryder: Ryder hit Elbows and a Missile Dropkick, but Barrett fought back and eventually got the win with the Bullhammer Elbow.

Divas Champion Nikki Bella and Brie Bella w/Alicia Fox vs. Tamina Snuka and Naomi: Snuka and Naomi, of course, had problems communicating and Nikki got the win with the Rack Attack.

Intercontinental Champion Ryback vs. Mark Henry: Ryback got the ring with the Top Rope Splash after he hit the Meathook Clothesline and countered the World’s Strongest Slam.

Dolph Ziggler w/Lana vs. Adam Rose w/Rosa Mendes: Rose gets marks for a ton of energy and a wicked Spinebuster, but Ziggler got the win with the Super Kick.
