Review Fix Exclusive: Signs Of Algorithm’s Talks Creative Process And More

Review Fix chats with Signs of Algorithm’s Frederich, who discusses the band’s creative process and goals for the future.

Review Fix: How did the band get together?

Frederick: That’s a long story but I’ll make it short for you. We started as a bunch of guys with a passion for metalcore who just wanted to make heavy music for ourselves and for our friends. A lot has changed in the three years that we have been around as a band, especially in our lineup. We had two other bassists and one other drummer in the past so you can say that we evolved throughout the years.
Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?

Frederick: We are five different persons with a personal view on how Signs Of Algorithm should sound. We bring our ideas together and blend it all together to create our own sound. Of course, our vision on music changes while time passes. We always aim to reach the next level so we try to improve Signs Of Algorithm by creating better songs than the ones we wrote before. If I compare our creative process to the past I have to say that we spend more time on details in songs and we experiment more and more with samples in our music.

Review Fix: What’s your standout song?

Frederick: I think I can speak for the whole band if I say that Harbinger is our standout song. It is the last song we have written for our debut album and in our opinion it’s the best song we have written ‘til now because of the matching combination between piano, heavy guitars, refreshing solo’s and varied vocals.

Review Fix: What are your goals for 2016?

Frederick: We already reached a lot of our goals for 2016. We signed with White Tower Records, released our video clip Harbinger and released our debut album Harbinger. That were out most important goals that we wanted to achieve for this year. Of course, we need to promote the album live as well so we still need to tour in a lot of different countries. Last week we toured in The South Of France & Spain. We still have Belgium, The Netherlands, Uk and Eastern Europe planned for 2016.

Review Fix: How do you want your music to affect people?

Frederick: The most important thing is that people get the “wow” effect. Everyone knows the feeling when a very good band blows him or her away. I think that’s the best thing to reach for us when someone listens or watches our band.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Frederick: The next step that we want to reach is playing on some bigger festivals and make a tour outside of Europe. We might have plans to tour out of Europe in 2017 but nothing concrete is planned ‘til now.
