Review Fix Exclusive: Alexandria Corn Talks ‘Say It Again’ And More

Review Fix chats with singer Alexandria Corn, who discusses her origin in music as well as her new single “Say It Again.” Working with producers from all over the country, Corn has set some big goals for herself this year.

Review Fix: What was your invitation to the music world like?

Alexandria Corn: Well, it was a lot of hard work to get to where I finally am right now- having an amazing team of writers, and producers from all over (New York, Nashville, Kansas, California). When I was younger, I had no idea that I would be doing what I’m doing. After auditioning for American Idol at 16, and making it past the many producer rounds, that really sparked my passion even more. I’ve had to make a lot of sacrifices in my lifetime, a lot of changes, and then the big move out of a small town to a big city. It’s crazy how things fall into place, though. I’ve been very blessed to meet the people I have met along my way and the ones who believe in me.

Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?

Corn: My creative process happens when I am inspired by something- which could be anything from waking up early and having coffee at the kitchen table, to having a conversation with an interesting person. Song ideas also happen a lot in my sleep. The fun part is to see if I can remember all the details (which rarely happens) and if it was as good as it seemed at 3 am!

Review Fix: What’s your standout song? How was it written?

Corn: My newest single “Say It Again” is by far my favorite song that I’ve written. I wrote it alongside two other brilliant writers, Jillian Farrar and A. Helms (both in Nashville). It was so much fun to just sit down and connect all of our thoughts on this song. We had a story in mind, it was just all about piecing those ideas together. There’s no greater feeling than when your a song comes to life.

Review Fix: What are your goals for 2016?

Corn: To keep going and don’t stop for anyone or anything. It’s taken me a long time to find my “sound” and I feel like I am just getting started. I’m still learning new things every day. There’s a lot in store that I’m not allowed to talk about just yet… but it’s going to be the greatest blessing ever!

Review Fix: How do you want your music to affect people?

Corn: I want them to feel something. I want to create a positive atmosphere and connect with them. My music is about some of life’s obstacles- some good, some bad. Whether it’s written on paper or turned into a melody, I want my audience to know we all go through certain things and we are all in it together.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Corn: Right now, I am currently finishing up my EP and just finished filming my newest video for “Say It Again,” which is prompted to release in June 2016. I haven’t released any new music yet, so I’m extremely excited! You can stay up to date on all of my social media pages.
