Tier 1 and Warriors of Wrestling Presents: Empire State of Mind Coverage: Awesome In-Ring Action

Tier 1 and Warriors of Wrestling had a huge event in Brooklyn NY called “Empire State of Mind” with some great matches and four championships on the line. Also on hand was a pre-show that had Pro Wrestling BAM!’s Future Stars Initiative which had former ECW/WWE star James “Little Guido”/”Nunzio” Maritato competing.

Some matches of note from Pro Wrestling BAM:

The Sanctuary Showcase Match: “The Unpredictable” J George vs. “The Gamechanger” Aaron Bradley: A great opening match where “The Gamechanger” won by pinfall.

Create A Pro Wrestling Academy vs. Blitzkrieg Pro: Dickie Rodz vs. “Top Shelf” Troy Nelson: Rodz getting the victory over “Top Shelf” was expected since he was the better wrestler this match. It seemed like a throwaway match since there was very little to be excited about here.

Jasin Karloff and Marc Hauss vs. Vinny Pacífico and AJ Evers: A squash match to end all squash matches. Karloff and Haus destroyed both men in a one-sided brawl.

Liberty States Wrestling Heavyweight Championship defense vs. Lucky Pro Wrestling vs. Warriors of Wrestling vs. Pro Wrestling BAM! Christian Casanova vs. Brick Mastone vs. “American Nightmare” Logan Black vs. James “Little Guido”/”Nunzio” Maritato: Crazy match that was 99 percent tag team match where Mastone and Black teamed up and Casanova and Guido teamed up. Casanova pinning Guido and getting the win was weird in an overall great match.

Matches from the main show:

CAW Pro Showcase Match: Max Caster vs. Max Friedman: Great athleticism from both wrestlers with Caster getting the win.

VALKRIE Women’s Showcase Match: “Superstar” Nikki Addams vs. Damaris: An above average women’s match with Addams getting the win.

Limitless Showcase Match: Ace Romero vs. Anthony Greene: Another OK match with little to show as Romero got the victory.

Wild Style Battle Royal – For the Teri 1 Wrestling Tag Team Championship: Minute Men (Delicious Devin and Devin Blaze) vs. Cutthroat Kings vs. Monkey Flip (Space Monkey and Travis Gordon) vs. The New Heavenly Bodies (Desirable Dustin and Gigolo Justin) vs. Flawless and Lawless (Blake Morris and Rex Lawless) vs. The Breakfast Club (Francis Kipland Stevens and The Abominable CPA) vs. Indy Card Mafia (“The Project” Thomas Brewington and Eric Emanon) vs. Certified Sexy: This was a HUGE match that started off with a crazy battle royal that turned into Final Four Elimination match. Lots of great spots when you can tell what was going on in the match. Cutthroat Kings got the victory and are new Tier 1 Wrestling Tag Team Champions.

Blitzkrieg Pro Showcase Match: Blitzkrieg Bedlam Championship Match: Jeremy Leary vs. Pinkie Sanchez vs. Xavier Bell vs. Brian Fury vs. Scotty Wild: Not as exciting as the Wild Style Battle Royal but had some nice spots. Wild won by pinfall.

Special Attraction Match: Dick Justice vs. Sonny Kiss: Too much showboating + basic moves + a roll up pin by Kiss = forgettable match.

No Limit’s Championship: Darius Carter vs. Jeff Cobb: Most of the match looked like Carter was squashing Cobb (and showboating a lot,) but Cobb fought back valiantly. Carter got the win using the belt.

Intergender Match: “Buzzsaw” Jessie Brooks vs. Marc Haus: This match had an awkward start where, not storyline related, this really happened, the New York State Athletic Commission stated that a female and male wrestler can’t compete against each other. The match started back up at the end of the night after resolving the issue. Brooks and Hauss had a phenomenal match with Brooks showing she is “the baddest woman in the world” and winning this match.
