WWE RAW Coverage: Catching ZzZ’s Before the Rumble

In what was supposed to be a wild episode of RAW, the last show before Royal Rumble, little happened to draw any type of excitement. Away from a Goldberg, Undertake and Brock Lesnar appearance to end the show, little else happened. The return of The Big Show and Seth Rollins getting screwed out of his Royal Rumble spot were cool too, but this was an episode of RAW you could have easily missed. The last hour dragged on awfully and again, this was another reason why the blue brand is just a better show.

Matches:

RAW Tag Team Champion Cesaro w/RAW Tag Team Champion Sheamus vs. Luke Gallows w/Karl Anderson: A standard match with little in the way of entertainment. After Sheamus was taken out on the outside by Anderson, Gallows, who tapped out to the Sharpshooter behind the refs back earlier, got the win with the Flapjack.

Royal Rumble Spot Match: Sami Zayn vs. Seth Rollins: This was a great match that saw Zayn win with a Rollup after Rollins was distracted by Triple H’s entrance theme.

Aria Daivari, Drew Gulak and Tony Nese vs. Mustafa Ali, TJ Perkins and Jack Gallagher: The only thing that was special about this match was the finish as Ali hit the Phoenix 450 for the win.

Eight-Man Tag: Kofi Kingston, Big E. Langston, Colin Cassady and Enzo Amore w/Xavier Woods vs. Braun Strowman, Rusev, Jinder Mahal and Titus O’Neil w/Lana: Lots of back and forth until Strowman hit the ring and destroyed Amore with a Running Powerslam. After the match, Big Show hit the ring and the two stood face to face before Strowman exited the ring and said, “On my time.”

United States Champion Chris Jericho vs. Roman Reigns: This match got thrown out as Universal Champion Kevin Owens interrupted the match. Owens tried to put Reigns in the Shark Cage, but Reigns fought back and put Owens in it before he nailed Jericho with the Superman Punch and Spear.

Nia Jax vs. Local Indie Competitor: Can you say squash? Jay won with the Banzai Drop.

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann vs. Noam Dar w/Alicia Foxx: Dar fought hard but Swann dominated with the Rich Kick and earned the victory. After the match, Swann called out Neville and got in a few licks.
