Review Fix chats with Psychocide’s Goldwyn Thandrayen, who discusses the band’s origin, goals, brand expectations and comic book.

Review Fix: How did the band get together?

Goldwyn Thandrayen: The new lineup of musician, Craigslist. I heard that it was best bet to meet weirdos. And it Worked.

Review Fix: What makes your brand special?

Thandrayen: Our brand? We have been able to target a specific market of different demographics integrating it within a customizable algorithm based on past and present performances of successful bands existing on the intraweb, which actually defined specific parameters to lay out a template, which is what Psychocide is based off and the font alone was called special. So that makes us special.

Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?

Thandrayen: I don’t exactly have a process, but usually I think of something I want to write about, I really dig into that subject, get as close as possible and somewhere during that process, creativity sparks. I grab a pen and guitar, I write. So far it has never been about the subject I originally picked.

Review Fix: What’s your standout song on the album How was it written?

Thandrayen: Breaking Bad. I had 9 songs down and needed one more. The flood gates just opened, and this song was literally written 8 hours before we cut it to the record.

Review Fix: What are your goals for 2017?

Thandrayen: Our goals for 2017 is to tour US & Canada possibly South America, but basically we can’t wait to get on the road and share the record.

Review Fix: What makes your latest album special?

Thandrayen: The characters are well defined, the sound of Psychocide is well defined. I think we have established what we sound like through this record and we are also demonstrating how far we can go in terms of Music Videos and now Comic Books.

Review Fix: How do you want your music to affect people?

Thandrayen: We want to create a new generation of dreamers, that’s how we want to affect people allow them to dream.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Thandrayen: I’m currently drafting the comic that goes along the record, we have a few show coming up, and I have set myself to release some new stuff every month on Soundcloud.

Review Fix: Anything else you’d like add?

Thandrayen: If you’re a rocker, keep at it, I really want to hear some good new Kick Ass Rock N’ Roll bands, If you don’t play music, get creative and create. We dream of the day everyone takes a little time to try that out, create, it’s great and it’s amazing what can come out. Remember those flying cars we talked about in the ’90s where are they?
