WWE RAW Coverage: Snorefest Before the Rumble

With just two weeks before Royal Rumble, RAW continued to build momentum, but did so by teasing a Tag Team title change that didn’t happen and by having filler matches and little in way of feud building. Overall, it was another tea episode of a show that continues to prove it’s no longer the flagship program of the promotion.

Matches:

Jinder Mahal and Rusev w/Lana vs. Colin Cassady and Enzo Amore: A decent back and forth with plenty of back and forth action. After Cass took out Mahal with a Big Boot, Enzo got the win with Rocket Launcher for the feel-good win.

Aria Daivari vs. Lince Dorado: Daivari got the quick win with the Cobra Clutch variation.

WWE RAW Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Sheamus vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson: This was a war that could have went either way until Sheamus accidentally took out the referee. With the referee out, Anderson and Gallows hit the Magic Killer and scored the win when a new referee hit the ring. However, once the old referee came to, he switched the decision, giving Gallows and Anderson the win via DQ, allowing Sheamus and Cesaro to keep the titles.

Tony Nese vs. Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann: This match never happened Neville hit the ring and beat on Swann and then Nese.

Titus O’Neil vs. Big E. Langston w/Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods: O’Neil was ironically in control for most of the match until Langston fought back and hit the Standing Frog Splash, Belly-to-Belly Suplex and the Big Ending for the win.

Cedric Alexander vs. Brian Kendrick: Thanks to some help from Alicia Fox, Alexander got the win with the Lumbar Check. After the match, however, Alexander refused to hug Fox and walked out of the ring.

Braun Strowman, United States Champion Chris Jericho and WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn and Seth Rollins: A lengthy waste of time that saw Strowman dominate but the group effort of Reigns, Rollins and Zayn worked excellently together. However, Strowman was able to get the win on Zayn with the Running Powerslam. After the match, Strowman attempted to put Zayn through the announce table, but Rollins and Reigns made the save and instead, Owens put Reigns through the announce table.
