Review Fix: How was this comic born?

Kerri Schiff: I have always been a comic book fan, and enjoyed drawing. After reading The Hobbit, then being made aware of a comic book version I started thinking about making a comic book version of one of my favorite books. But after realizing the complications and fees that are associated with rewriting someone else’s story,  I decided to write my own story based on various life experiences I’ve had.

Review Fix: What comics did you read as a kid? How did they affect you?

Schiff: I was a fan of wonder woman as a kid as well as batman. I also read x-men. I’ve always been a fan of fantasy and science fiction.  Star Trek and Star Wars were and still are big influences.

Review Fix: Who do you think will enjoy the comic the most?

Schiff: I hope sci-fi fans and fantasy fans will enjoy it. As well as the gay and lesbian community. The subsequent chapters which I have already written and hope to publish will have a lot of ancient Jewish history as well.

Review Fix: Bottom line, why should someone read this?

Schiff: It is entertaining and has intrigue, history, and romance. As the story progresses the characters will face difficult challenges that I hope readers will find relevant to their own lives.

Review Fix: Why is your Kickstarter special?

Schiff: My Kickstarter offers many fun gifts associated to the book as well as the book itself. I am also offering a few people of a certain bid amount the opportunity to either name a future character and/or have a character resemble either themselves or a person of their choice.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Schiff: I have six more chapters already written. I am currently working on illustrating chapter two which is an introduction to the 13th tribe, who are briefly mentioned in chapter 1.

Review Fix: Anything else you’d like to add?

Schiff: I’m excited about the prospect of continuing to write and illustrate even more chapters and maybe one day have a cartoon series.
