Review Fix: How did the band get together?

Hanna: Nocean was formed by me and Ozzy in 2013 as a classic hard rock band (Stockholm, Sweden). During the summer 2016, we made som changes to the line up so Patrick and Sara joined the band and we also developed our sound. Now we play melodious, alternative rock with metal influences and electronic elements.

Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?

Hanna: We write our songs together in the rehearsal room. Someone (often Hanna or Ozzy) comes up with a foundation to a song and we work it through altogether. We record all our new material in our own studio (Ozzy is our master of sound). So we record it along the way when we write the songs. We also create youtube covers to increase our following and we produce our music videos on our own.

Review Fix: What’s your standout song? How was it written?

Hanna: Our first single “The Change” that we wrote and recorded with the new line-up – was released last fall along with Sweden’s first rock video filmed in 360 degrees. Me and Ozzy wrote the foundation of the song and Sara and Patrick added their magic to it. It is a catchy song, kind of different from our older songs and it marks out the new era of our sound. It also got a huge response on social media and all of us like the song very much.

Review Fix: What are your goals for 2017?

Hanna: Our goals are to produce our second full-length album, to play larger stages and hopefully get to support some larger bands. We hope to find a label and a booking agency to cooperate with. We have already got some offers but we will look in every corner to get the best deals.

Review Fix: How do you want your music to affect people?

Hanna: We want our music to be explosive, heavy and grand and at the same time stick to your brain. Strong melodies, emotions and a massive sound. “Stay true to yourself” is a recurring motto through the band’s history and is also reflected in many of the lyrics.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Hanna: Besides writing more material for our new album, we are going to England again in May! To London, Tamworth and Birmingham on a headline tour. We will also play at Sweden Rock Festival! So it’s definitely an exciting year.
