Review Fix Exclusive: T Mitch Talks ‘Let It Be Heard’ And More

Review Fix chats with mix master T Mitch who discusses his new mixtape, “Let It Be Heard.”

About T Mitch:

Steven Michel, a.k.a. T Mitch, was born and raised in Ottawa Ontario, Canada with his parents, immigrants from Haiti. Steven’s mom signed him up in music lessons at the age of 7 to keep him out of trouble and off the street. His music teacher loved his passion for music and saw something special in him. He was forced by his middle school music teacher and his mom to join the school choir. Another music teacher, “Phillipe Duquette”, made Steven audition for the school Choir and was amazed by his voice and made Steven the lead singer of the school Choir called “Le Group Allegro”. As the years past, Steven took a liking to music, but never took it very seriously. All of that changed in 2011, at the age of 16, when T Mitch got his first Midi keyboard and started producing beats on FL Studio for some local artists.

From the age of eighteen, Steven began using the name “T Mitchell” which he eventually changed to T Mitch. T Mitch is a multi talented artist that can rap, sing and produce. His music is versatile and crosses many genres, including Hip Hop, R&B, Trap and more. If you ask T Mitch, his main focus is just making good music with his unique melodic rap sound. He’s currently doing local shows and working on new music and projects.

Review Fix: What inspired this Mixtape?

T Mitch: I would say the fans inspired me to do this mixtape, because they wanted to hear more T Mitch music. I would also say that I needed more music in rotation. When I see and hear people enjoying my music that motivates me to do more and give more to my audience. What keeps me inspired is the fan love you receive after dropping a single or a new project. It keeps me going and keeps me motivated to keep doing good music.

Review Fix: How is it different from your previous work and album?

T Mitch: What makes this mixtape completely different from the previous work I’ve done is the melodic sound I’ve developed and put into practice in my music. People are used to hearing me rap in the traditional HipHop way, but I did something that I’ve never done before, which is rapping with a melody. This is what really sticks out from my previous work, its the melodic sound I’ve added to my beats.

Review Fix: What’s the standout song, or songs, on it? How was it written?

T Mitch: If I had to choose a song that really stands out in this mixtape, it would be “Put It Up,” because the song describes the mood I’m in when someone is listening to the mixtape. Every time I hear somebody listening to my mixtape, the chorus of this song tells you the mood I’m in. The chorus goes like this:

“Because!!! I put it I put it up I’m in your speakers!!!
I’m shining bright I’m shining bright for all my people!!!
I put it up I put it up for all my people!!!
I’m shining bright I’m shining bright!!!”

I’m pretty much rejoicing in this song with you, because the “Let It Be Heard” project is being heard and that was the number one goal of this project: To be heard by the people.

Review Fix: How do you want this Mixtape to affect people?

T Mitch: I want this mixtape to affect the people in a positive way. After they are done listening to this project, I want them to be on a positive vibe. I hope my music will touch people’s hearts in a good way and helps the people keep going for what they desire and want.

Review Fix: What’s next for T Mitch?

T Mitch: Well I’m hoping to be on the road soon and start doing shows outside of Ottawa and start connecting with some new fans. Definitely more music on the way, too. Just gotta be patient for it and definitely put out more projects.

Review Fix: Anything else you’d like to add?

T Mitch: Follow on me Instagram and Twitter @tmitchy09 and go like my Facebook page, please. Thanks!
