GFW Impact Coverage: Aries Ready to Lead

Austin Aries is here and GFW is a better show because of it. Add in the upcoming arrival of Brian Cage and plenty of other new faces and the show feels different. If it’s good or bad different is too early to tell.

Matches:

El Hijo de Fantasma and Rohit Raju vs. GFW X-Division Champion Taiji Ishimori and Impact Grand Champion Matt Sydal: A fun opener with plenty of offense and no beef or storyline between the competitors. Sydal got the pin on Raju with the Shooting Star after the Double Knees from Ishimori.

The Cult of Lee: Trevor Lee and Caleb Konley vs. Monroe and Reid: Essentially a squash as Konley and Lee hit the Assisted Piledriver for the win and begin a feud with LAX.

Kiera Hogan vs. GFW Knockouts Champion Laurel Van Ness: Hogan fought, but Van Ness won with the Unprettier and Allie then made the save before any real damage could be done.

Hania the Huntress vs. Amber Nova: Another squash as Hania wins with a tie Powerbomb and Reverse DDT variation. After the match, Rosemary gets involved.

#1 Contender’s Match: Ethan Carter III vs. Johnny Impact vs. Moose vs. Alberto El Patron: Lots of offense and counters, but Impact won with the Rollup on the counter of the One-Percenter.
