NXT Coverage: Ready for the Big Easy

This was a huge tease for Takeover New Orleans, but it was done the right way. Three entertaining matches and plenty of purposeful storyline made it an hour of NXT that set up their monster event almost flawlessly.

Matches:

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals: The Authors of Pain: Akam and Rezar w/Paul Ellering vs. WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne and Roderick Strong: This was a war that could have gone on all night but Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly interfered to get the match thrown out. NXT GM William Regal then hit the ramp and said The Authors of Pain and Strong and Dunne will face Undisputed Era and the winner will win the Dusty Tag Team Classic and the NXT Tag Team Titles.

Kairi Sane vs. Vanessa Borne: Sane won with her Elbow, but she also hit a Double Stomp and was dominant when she needed to be against the much-larger Borne.

Lars Sullivan vs. Killian Dane: These guys were super evenly-matched, but the match got thrown out as all the other competitors for the ladder match at Takeover New Orleans appeared.
