I buy the Megamix last year after seeing an online commercial and loved every minute of it. It does exactly what it say on the box. The whole family can enjoy it together and it even gives parents a chance to impart some education to their children. This is important in this day and age because kids are drifting away from parents at an alarming rate. If things are not rectified soon, it might be too late. I cannot leave without telling you about my favorite game i.e. Brainy basketball. Loved it ! This might be simply because i am good at it !

Volcano, Santa Ana Wind and Wishing might (maybe) sound like previous Everclear songs or have similar themes, but those three songs back to back on the album are pretty amazing! I agree about the pop/punk songs - I think they would be great live. But you didn't even mention what might be the two best songs on the album: Rocket for the Girl and Promenade, which close the album.

Overall, this is pretty true...but credit needs to be given to the Abyss/Park/Ray angle, & the Daniels/AJ/Dixie angle, as they are easily some of the best ideas TNA creative have had since the days of Jim Mitchell.
Also, while it's easy to call guys like Hardy, Angle & Anderson "washouts," they all still have a good amount of years left...ok, maybe not Angle...ok, for his own good, HOPEFULLY not Angle.
I've always seen TNA as the AHL of wrestling, the legitimate minor league:
There's up-and-comers who can't make it in the E, there's veterans that, while they CAN perform, it's on a slightly lower level, & then there's the under/overachievers, the guys that could be in the big leagues if they tried, but just seem to be better suited to the minors.

Well Pat, I think I could be inclined to agree with your overall point. Wrestling IS what the meat-and-potatoes of the industry is..but the crowd has to be emotionally invested in it. If you take the story out of the Godfather, you end up with a bunch of grown men killing each other.

I would love to see a few more stories out of TNA that don't result in an odd finish for the sake of continuing a barely held together angle. What's wrong with a pair of professionals trading wins and losses in a scripted sport, with each encounter adding a level of depth to their overall feud, resulting in a big blow-off match at a major PPV? I thought that was the tried-and-true method of the business.

The show is garbage. A piss poor representation of Brooklyn. No class. A bunch of 20 something year old girls (not women) fighting about some High School drama. Cursing and drinking like sailors. No aspirations. This show dumbs down women. How about showing the REAL Brooklyn?? Where the REAL women have class, have professional jobs, and are educated?? I guess that would be too boring. How about showing the REAL sites of Brooklyn instead of some dumpy glass shop or bars where people stumble out of and fight in front of?? Don't bother with a season 2. There are more people that dislike this show and wish to see it gone than there are people who like it. And I am the voice for those who dislike it. Get out of Brooklyn.

I think that the video has a few major flaws. The video is quick, non-transitional and almost jumpy, the acting was inorganic, the chemistry was forced and other than a Shadow-esque, "who knows what evil lies in the heart of man?" theme, there was no real point and no degree of subtlety.

The traditional format of a piece would be: Character, Conflict, Complication, Crisis into Climax followed by denouement. If one chooses to forgo this order there should be some justification as to why.

The characters were one-dimensional. We knew what they were doing at the time and their relation to one another, however there was absolutely no depth to them.

The conflict is there in a very simple way.

Complication is built into the conflict.

Crisis is toward the end and yet it is not climactic-- well not for the viewer anyway. There is no closure, no solution and things are left unjustifiably hanging mid-air.

The shock value ending was uncomfortable and awkward. Again, if there was a purpose to it, then it would be fine, but there was none aside from attempting to elicit a cheap reaction.

In a sense, the piece had all the finishing touches and superficial necessities but the "drawing board," part was overlooked in a very big way.

patrick:

thanks for watching and reviewing BFF--sorry you didn't enjoy the film any more than you did but i appreciate the coverage of short films by your website. that's great that you figured out the story so quickly but 30 seconds? it made me go back and see where 30 seconds actually falls in the running time of the picture and at that point the two lead characters have barely begun to speak any dialogue. you would give hercule poirot a run for his money with your powers of deduction! i suppose you did add the caveat of 'about' so that might add a few seconds on to your estimate but still, excellent job! perhaps a career in the police force is in your near future.

good luck with your website until then. thanks again for the coverage and happy that you enjoyed the work of thomas sadoski who is a really talented actor.

This is upsetting -- I know nothing about "BFF" but I am a big Neil Labute fan, although, after reading and watching many of his plays most of his stuff is now predictable. While most of his stuff is "anti-climatic" he still manages to shock, or least, shock in a realistic fashion. I'll probably still see this eventually.

I haven't read the comic, but the show is one hell of a ride. Season 2 like you said started with a Bang and also ended with one. It's true that in the middle of the season the tension slowed down but I believe it was necessary because it builds this sort of momentum where we the audience are fed information so that when we are presented with an event, such as the death of Shane and dale, we can process it and become emotionally attached. Dale for me was a kindhearted man who saw through the negative intentions of Shane, as well as the unstable decisions of Rick and the others. Yes it is true he became annoying, but the truth of the matter is it was necessary for him to do so. Now that he is dead, this question arises; Who will keep morality within the survivors? Rick? no he has become a dictator. Lori? I doubt it, though now she is showing some opposition towards Rick. What about T-Dog? hah! still the weakest Link.

*Scratches Head*

What? This list can't be about "Actin Stars" because I know for a fact that Jackie and I cannot be at the lower end of this ladder. However, this list correctly ranks steroid usage within "Action Stars," in which case this list is gold. Just move Bruce Lee down near us and replace Bruce Willis with Mickey Rourke and then you've got yourself a solid list kid.

Time for me to go back to the Delta Force.

Great review. Neeson is out-standing here and gives probably one of his best performances that we have seen from him in a very long time. The rest of the film also works because there’s not only this certain paranoia going on but even when the “action” comes, it’s tense, brutal, and surprising. Best film of the year so far even though that’s definitely not saying much. Check out my review when you get the chance.

Freaked out when I saw Chairlift's track was the single of the week. "Something" deserves all the buzz it can get - it's a really strong album. Another great track is "Sidewalk Safari," stumbled on this link of them doing it live and it's awesome. http://youtu.be/77ob12zZLes
