I think that the video has a few major flaws. The video is quick, non-transitional and almost jumpy, the acting was inorganic, the chemistry was forced and other than a Shadow-esque, “who knows what evil lies in the heart of man?” theme, there was no real point and no degree of subtlety.

The traditional format of a piece would be: Character, Conflict, Complication, Crisis into Climax followed by denouement. If one chooses to forgo this order there should be some justification as to why.

The characters were one-dimensional. We knew what they were doing at the time and their relation to one another, however there was absolutely no depth to them.

The conflict is there in a very simple way.

Complication is built into the conflict.

Crisis is toward the end and yet it is not climactic– well not for the viewer anyway. There is no closure, no solution and things are left unjustifiably hanging mid-air.

The shock value ending was uncomfortable and awkward. Again, if there was a purpose to it, then it would be fine, but there was none aside from attempting to elicit a cheap reaction.

In a sense, the piece had all the finishing touches and superficial necessities but the “drawing board,” part was overlooked in a very big way.

thanks for watching and reviewing BFF–sorry you didn’t enjoy the film any more than you did but i appreciate the coverage of short films by your website. that’s great that you figured out the story so quickly but 30 seconds? it made me go back and see where 30 seconds actually falls in the running time of the picture and at that point the two lead characters have barely begun to speak any dialogue. you would give hercule poirot a run for his money with your powers of deduction! i suppose you did add the caveat of ‘about’ so that might add a few seconds on to your estimate but still, excellent job! perhaps a career in the police force is in your near future.

This is upsetting — I know nothing about “BFF” but I am a big Neil Labute fan, although, after reading and watching many of his plays most of his stuff is now predictable. While most of his stuff is “anti-climatic” he still manages to shock, or least, shock in a realistic fashion. I’ll probably still see this eventually.

I haven’t read the comic, but the show is one hell of a ride. Season 2 like you said started with a Bang and also ended with one. It’s true that in the middle of the season the tension slowed down but I believe it was necessary because it builds this sort of momentum where we the audience are fed information so that when we are presented with an event, such as the death of Shane and dale, we can process it and become emotionally attached. Dale for me was a kindhearted man who saw through the negative intentions of Shane, as well as the unstable decisions of Rick and the others. Yes it is true he became annoying, but the truth of the matter is it was necessary for him to do so. Now that he is dead, this question arises; Who will keep morality within the survivors? Rick? no he has become a dictator. Lori? I doubt it, though now she is showing some opposition towards Rick. What about T-Dog? hah! still the weakest Link.

I thought this episode was perfect because the plot didn’t require any of the characters to act out of the norm for it to work. I’m a little behind on episodes but I caught this one last night thanks to my employer, DISH, and their website, DISH Online. It’s the perfect site to help me catch up and I love that almost everything is available to stream instantly. I have to say that watching Ron giggle in delight because he loves puzzles is the perfect way to end a long day.

Great review. Neeson is out-standing here and gives probably one of his best performances that we have seen from him in a very long time. The rest of the film also works because there’s not only this certain paranoia going on but even when the “action” comes, it’s tense, brutal, and surprising. Best film of the year so far even though that’s definitely not saying much. Check out my review when you get the chance.

i agree totally. only when you consider the amount of matches in a two hour show, is it good enough to even be considered a filler episode. aside from the chris jericho arrival being anti climactic, they now only have three episodes left to promote the royal rumble match itself and one participant has not even been annouced yet! unfortunatly, i think wrestling is pretty much done for an old school fan such as myself.

It’s hard to say if Skyrim is the “biggest” game ever made. However, it will no doubt win “game of the year”. I’ve been playing it for a while now and I’m thoroughly enjoying it! It’s hands down much larger than Oblivion. I feel like I haven’t even made a dent in it and I’ve been playing it everyday for a month! I am curious to know what is the largest game ever made (gameplay wise) though. I’d imagine Skyrim has to be in the top 5.

I heard somewhere that NECA will be releasing a series of FATHER’S DAY action figures?! Anybody know anything about this? Has NECA ever produced anything from such a low budget film? I guess they already worked with TROMA (with the Toxie figure), and Evil Dead (but that’s a landmark film.)
Either way I personally LOOOOVVVVED the movie and want to pre-order a figure gosh darn it!

God yes. I snored my way through the second episode, thought it was just me. could not for a moment understand the significance of the flashback and in fact am completely annoyed with the character of Lori. Hell, Andrea too. If I want to see whining and bickering I’ll tune into Dancing With the Stars. But I don’t because I want to see Zombie Killing drama, something there’s been very little of so far.
