Then again, this movie is really about a disaster and not exactly about the characters per se, so I can see why the characters are a bit undeveloped. I mean, it’s hard to discuss the life of so many characters when every second, some part of the world is falling apart.

It really does remind me of “The Day After Tomorrow” and it really didn’t explain much about the Mayan calendar. This movie is pretty fun to watch because everything happening looks real, but it’s not a movie that could be watched over and over again. It’s really, like you said, a drop-and-forget movie after the first view.

I agree, the trailer did spoil a lot of the cool scenes.. unfortunately.

There was also a lot of mentions of “special effects” and “effects” in the review, though it is what the movie is mainly about, but switching up and using other words would make it sound less repetitive :)
