Thoughts on ‘Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions’ Debut Trailer

From this video alone, it’s obvious that Marvel and Activision’s newest Spider-Man game will be great-looking and will feature a hearty helping of both villains and activities to keep gamers hungry. With the game’s story being written by Spidey-vet Dan Slott, who has penned several amazing [no pun intended, the guy really is that good] tales over the past few years, [including “New Ways To Die,” which many believe gave the series some much needed energy and charisma after “Brand New Day” went and pissed off millions of fans] the game’s story will no doubt be solid, a vast improvement over the tale in the last Spidey game, “Web of Shadows,” which felt cameo-filled and haphazard.

With four different dimensions being playable in the game as well, all with different gameplay mechanics, [The noir section looks like a combination of “The Watchmen,” “Sin City” and “Batman:Arkham Asylum,” while the amazing section, looks like it’s stolen from the pages of “Ultimate Spider-Man.”] you can bet this game won’t feature the repetitive beat-em-up gameplay that has plagued the series over the past few years as well.

Overall, this game is shaping up nicely and is looking to send the web-slinger in a brand new direction.

Not hitting shelves until September, there’s still plenty of room for this one to grow and develop as well.
