‘All I Want’ by A Day To Remember: Free I-Tunes Single of the Week

Though they call themselves ‘A Day To Remember,’ they’re definitely considered a band that should never be forgotten.

A Day To Remember is an American rock group that was founded in 2003. Ever since then, they’ve been unstoppable.

Current members include Jeremy McKinnon (lead vocals), Neil Westfall (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Kevin Skaff (lead guitar, backing vocals), Joshua Woodard (bass guitar) and Alex Shelnutt (drums). With their combined talent, they produce music that falls under several genres; such as metalcore, post-hardcore, pop-punk and emo.

As of today, “All I Want” is recognized to be the most popular track off of their latest album, ‘What Separates Me From You,’ which was released on November 16, 2010.

For those that have been fans of A Day To Remember for a long period of time, this particular song may throw them off. Depending on certain tracks, they commonly include screaming vocals. This time around, the overall result is much softer than usual.

This certainly proves that they aren’t afraid to stretch some boundaries.

Not only does McKinnon have an outstanding singing voice, but he also chose great lyrics that are highly relatable to those of all ages. Throughout the entire tune, he shouts a catchy chorus, along with memorable verses.

Even though the vocals and lyrics grasp a mellow concept, the background music still remains sturdy and solid. Westfall, Skaff, Woodard and Shelnutt’s contribution is very addictive, booming with strong melodies.

Without sounding strange, each member donates dynamic riffs and beats that contain an active vibe of both metalcore and pop-punk genres.

A Day To Remember might present themselves as tough guys covered in tattoos, but in the end, they are outstanding musicians. They created an impressive single that left a good judgment as to what the rest of ‘What Separates Me From You’ might sound like.
