12TH TROMADANCE FILM FESTIVAL OPENS TOMORROW WITH PRESS CONFERENCE AND ALL ABOUT EVIL

April 21, 2011 (New York, NY)- It was announced today by Tromadance co-director Renzo Adler, that the TromaDance Film Festival (April 22-23, Asbury ParkNJ) will open on Friday at 6:30 PM with a press conference. TromaDance Founder Lloyd Kaufman will be interviewed by Alex Biese of Asbury Park Press and Metromix Jersey Shore. The issues discussed will include media industry consolidation, net neutrality and why SunDance and other “independent” film festivals are not “doing the job.”

Tromadance will also feature the east coast premiere of Miguel Angel Vivas’ Kidnapped (courtesy of IFC Films)on Saturday, April 23 at 8 PM! Seats are first come, first serve. The opening features for Friday, April 22 will be Joshua Grannell’s All About Evil at 7PM and The Taint at 9PM.

TromaDance will also feature a panel on “Selling Movies in a Post-Digital Age” with Oscar nominated animator Bill Plympton, New York Horror Film Festival

founder Michael Hein, Fangoria Managing Editor Michael Gingold, animator John Goras, and New York Film Commissioner Pat Kaufman, with Lloyd Kaufman acting as moderator.

TromaDance is the first film festival wholeheartedly devoted to filmmakers and fans. Unlike every other film festival, TromaDance does not charge filmmakers to submit their films. Entrance to all screenings is free and

open to the public. Also, there are no VIP reservations or preferential treatment regarding films, panels, or parties of any kind given. The organizers of TromaDance believe films are meant to be seen, especially when it comes to new filmmakers. Art – in all its forms – is for the people! Tromadance was created in 1999 by Troma President and Creator of the Toxic Avenger, Lloyd Kaufman, based on an idea from SouthPark creator Trey Parker.
