New York, NY- Greetings from Tromaville! Troma Entertainment, along with filmmaker John Goras, will be presenting an evening of chicken-oriented cinema at the prestigious Anthology Film Archives Saturday, January 14th at 9:00 p.m. A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to an animal rights organization working to protect out favorite feathered friends and other factory farmed animals from abuse.
Troma will be presenting Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead and John Goras’ animated short, Chirpy. Both directors, Goras and Lloyd Kaufman, President of Troma Entertainment and Creator of the Toxic Avenger, will be in attendance.
For over a decade, Troma Entertainment and vegetarian, Lloyd Kaufman, have had a close relationship with animal rights groups such as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or PETA. Kaufman has recently directed and produced a public service announcement, pro-bono, for the group concerning the issue of factory farming. In the past, PETA has highlighted Troma in one of their documentaries, sponsored TromaDance (Troma’s annual independent film festival, www.tromadance.com ) and they have even reviewed and raved about Kaufman’s Poultrygeist!

Poultrygeist was also named one of msn.com‘s Top Ten Civil Rights Films, stating “the movie is a genius satire of humanity’s blind consumption of meat.”
Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead and Chirpy will be presented at Anthology Film Archives on Saturday, January 14th at 9pm.  Anthology Film Archives is located at 32 2nd Ave,  New York, NY.  Tickets are $9 and are available at the box office one half hour before the event.
