TNA Impact Wrestling Power Rankings: A Night With the Club

With Aces and Eights’ continued dominance and the return of The Phenomenal AJ Styles, there was plenty of drama on Impact this week. That’s not to say that there wasn’t any decent action in the ring though. From Knockouts to factions and mid-carders, or in the case of the Aces and Eights, factions filled with mid-carders, there was a hearty helping of solid performances in the ring and on the microphone this week.

5: Velvet Sky: A Head-Scissor-Russian Leg Sweep, a Japanese Arm Drag and much more polish were the main reasons for one of Velvet Sky’s best matches in quite some time. Although she’s not nearly the worker that Tara, Gail Kim or Mickie James are, the fans continue to connect with her. Let those pigeons fly.

4: Bad Influence- Christopher Daniels and Frank Kazarian: These guys dressed as The Road Warriors on this week’s Impact. That’s enough to get on the list. Like Robert Roode and Austin Aries, them are entertaining as hell and can work. At this point, TNA’s tag team division is the best in the world right now. It may even be the most competitive in the company as well.

3: AJ Styles: His return wasn’t a sizzler, but his new look and attitude, Styles is a welcomed addition to the TNA roster. With the weakness in the X-Division obvious, Styles could get started right away in a feud with Kenny King, for the title he made mean something. But this is all speculation. Will he join Aces and Eights? With all of these options, you have to wonder what his place in the company will be- especially with the overabundance of bad guys.

2: Matt Morgan: His current feud with Joseph Park may not look too sexy on paper, but under that fat man suit is Abyss, one of the best big men in the sport. With Morgan’s surge and chip on his shoulder, this could make for a great match next week.

1: The Aces and Eights: First the club destroyed former Tag Team champions Hernandez and Chavo Guerrero. Then Bully Ray cut his first promo as the official leader of the group. Later in the night, the gang destroyed Kurt Angle once again. By the end of the night, Sting was also on the hit list. With a slew of segments and cuts to their antics, TNA appears ready to give the group an even bigger push. Who can stop them?
