TNA Impact Wrestling Power Rankings: Trouble in Gangland

If you thought last week’s Impact was horrible, you haven’t seen nothing yet. 120 minutes of pandering, this week’s episode of Impact featured just three matches. Although the matches were all solid, the chatter and constant rehashing of old events hurt what could have been a decent show.

Here’s our weekly Impact Wrestling power rankings- a list of the grapplers who didn’t waste your precious time.

5: Taryn Terrell: Although she didn’t have her first match, Terrell was dead sexy and equally as tough. As if there weren’t plenty of good-looking women in the Knockouts division already, Terrell is a beautiful and energetic addition to the division that may have more potential than anyone thinks.

4: Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez: They may not be able to cut a promo, but they had a more than respectable match on Impact this week against Christopher Daniels and Frank Kazarian. If only these guys could use a microphone, they’d be gold. With Austin Aries and Bobby Roode, Bad Influence and Hernandez and Guerrero, the Impact Wrestling Tag Team Division is easily the strongest in the company.

3: Sting: Kudos to the Stinger for standing up for himself again Hulk Hogan. Aside from that, all the legend did was talk. While no one wants to see Hogan and Sting wrassle again, a potential Matt Morgan/Sting encounter may be interesting.

2: Jeff Hardy: Say what you want about Hardy, but he continues to have excellent matches every week. Sad that an encounter between him and Mr. Anderson, which could have headlined a pay per view a year and change ago was wasted on free TV, with no real build-up, but it was a solid match. Hardy however went hardcore during the match as well and the fans ate it up. Tables, ladders, chairs, hammers- this version of Hardy was dormant for years. But this is the only way the Aces and Eights can be dealt with. Make no mistake- he’s the franchise player on Impact right now. That doesn’t look to change anytime soon.

1: The Aces and Eights: These guys continue to take no prisoners. Although they continue to not win their matches cleanly, they prove that they have power in numbers. Although they lack a real ring general in their ranks, Anderson’s match with Jeff Hardy was an excellent one. If Anderson can get more mic time and perhaps a run with a partner to challenge for the Tag Team titles (possibly DOC) then the group will really be cooking. As of now, they’re the best of a bad creative run in the company.
