WWE RAW Power Rankings: One for the Workers

This was a week for the real ponies, the workhorses who never get the rightful credit they deserve. With a lack of compelling drama, this episode of RAW survived mainly on the backs of the shooters and performers that go out and break a sweat every week and not the juiced up body builders or jokesters who think they’re athletes.

Check out this week’s power rankings to see who made this week of RAW worth watching.

5: Alberto Del Rio: The former WWE and World heavyweight champion avenged his loss last week to Big E. Langston by using AJ Lee’s trickery against her and her client. Still smooth as butter in the ring and slowly but surely becoming accepted as a top face in the company, Del Rio’s stock continues to rise. He just needs a real angle. Although Langston is huge and has potential, this isn’t a perfect feud.

4: Curtis Axel: A much better showing than last week’s match against Triple H, Axel was dominant at times. While John Cena’s superman comeback spoiled the effort, Axel showcased a beautiful dropkick, impressive stamina and of course, his father Cut Hennig’s finishing maneuver, The Perfect Plex.

3: Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns: These guys continue to hide their inexperience and work fantastic matches with an experienced and dominant team in Hell No. Smart and focused, Rollins and Reigns get better every week. If you think this angle with Hell No is something now, just wait until Rollins and Reigns develop more.

2: Daniel Bryan and Kane: Their angle with The Shield is simply put, money. Bryan is the workhorse in the group, but Kane is the legend that stirs the drink. Despite his advancing age, he’s still a fantastic worker. Their chemistry is evident on the microphone and in the ring. Even though they don’t own the Tag Team titles, they are the best tag team in the world today.

1: Dean Ambrose: A win over Kofi Kingston may not account for too much to the average fan, but Kingston is the standard for solid in the company. One of the WWE’s top performers, Ambrose was dominant in one of his best matches in the WWE to date. His finisher alone makes sure he’ll get a following shortly, but his ability on the microphone and momentum of his stable is sure to get him a title shot eventually.
