Tae Phoenix to Release Sophomore Album March 10th to iTunes

Roots-pop singer-songwriter Tae Phoenix will release her sophomore Album, “Outside the Lines” to iTunes on March 10th, 2014.

The album, which is now available for pre-order on Bandcamp, showcases Phoenix’s range, versatility, and prowess as both songwriter and vocalist.

The first single from the album, “Let the Light In,” dives into the story behind Phoenix’s recovery from depression. The opening track, “Damned Old Flame,” warns a younger sister about the dangers of charismatic men, and the bawdy twelve-bar shuffle “Down & Dirty Way” continues the female blues tradition of making the sexual political through song.

Phoenix will celebrate the release of “Outside the Lines” with a show at the Royal Room in Columbia City on April 24, 2014 at 7pm. Joining Phoenix onstage will be fellow local singer / songwriters Julia Massey and Whitney Mongé.

Those interested can purchase advance tickets for $10 via Stranger Tickets, or pay $12 at the door.

“Outside the Lines” was produced and engineered by noted Seattle producer and saxophonist Dave Miner at London Bridge Studios in Seattle. The album was fully fan-funded, with the bill for production costs footed by Seattle pianist, trial attorney, and arts patron Michael Withey, and another $7,000 contributed toward promotional costs via the crowdfunding site, Kickstarter.

The album and single both feature drawings by Seattle-born cartoonist Dylan Meconis. Meconis is the author of the critically-acclaimed graphic novel Bite Me, the webcomic Family Man, and the Eisner Award-nominated digital comic Outfoxed. She is based in Portland.
