WWE Main Event Coverage: Developing the Midcard

Four matches this week on Main Event paved the way for some surprising excitement. Now becoming the place where the mid-card is developed, this week’s show didn’t feature any matches that resembled the title of the show, but it did serve its purpose. Is it a must-see show? Not really, but for those looking for a quick wrestling fix, Main Event did it this week.

Matches:

Los Matadores, w/El Torito, Cody Rhodes and Goldust vs Ryback, Curtis Axel and Heath Slater, Drew MacIntyre and Jinder Mahal: After a Disaster Kick from Cody to Ryback, El Torito got inside the ring with Heath Slater and delivered a quick Hurricanrana. There was chaos when both Matadores took down 3MB with top rope moves. In the arena, Slater and Torito taunted one another until a Hurricanrana allowed Torito a win.

Natalya Neidhart and Eva Marie vs. Aksana and Alicia Foxx: Neidhart hit a suplex, twice, along with kicks and clotheslines to Aksana to get the early advantage. Marie stopped Fox’s interference from outside and knocked into Neidhart, allowing Aksana to deliver a Spinebuster to Neidhart for a victory.

Titus O’Neil vs. Darren Young: In a rematch between former partners, O’Neil gave Young a beating that disturbed the crowd. Young was tossed around in the arena and went through submissions from O’Neil. I pinned the big man with a reversal move.

Damien Sandow vs. Sin Cara:
As Sandow continues to stress over his losing habits, he took his frustration out on Sin Cara yet there was no momentum. Sin Cara used a powerful slam. With a kick to the head of Sandow, Cara won.
