TNA Impact Wrestling Coverage: Hardy and Aries Thrive in Wild Episode

Wow. Four championship matches and little filler made this easily one of the best episodes of Impact Wrestling this year. Even the non-title segments, with Bully Ray and Ethan Carter III were done well-enough to keep you intrigued.

With a few episodes of the show coming from New York City as well, TNA will be in a place to garner some big time momentum. When was the last time you could say that?

Matches:

TNA Tag Team Champions Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards vs. Bram and Magnus: This appears to be the beginning of what could be a longer feud than expected. With little competition in the division and Magnus’ success as a tag team performer and Bram’s inexperience, this just makes sense. Although the Wolves won, thanks to a unique double Backslide maneuver, Bram an Magnus quickly attacked the champions after the bell.

X-Division Champion Senada vs. Austin Aries: A crazy match with a ton of near-falls. After Aries kicked out of Senada’s Moonsault and Tiger Suplex, Aries couldn’t finish off Senada with the Brainbuster. But with Senada still down from the move, Aries nailed the 450 to reclaim the title.

Knockouts Champion Gail Kim vs. Angelina Love w/Velvet Sky vs. Madison Rayne vs. Britney: Although Kim was on the outside for most of the match, she came back after Rayne and Love both hit their finishers, hitting Love with the Eat Defeat for the win.

20-Man Battle Royal for #1 Contender’s Spot for TNA World Heavyweight title: Several interesting developments during the match as MVP hit Roode in the groin with a crutch to eliminate him, leaving Kenny King, Eric Young and Jeff Hardy left. Young made quick work of King and after a handshake, Young and Hardy went at it. After they traded offense for a few minutes, Young nearly eliminated Hardy with a Hip Toss, but then found himself on the apron. A Missile Dropkick from Hardy later and Young was eliminated.
