WWE RAW Coverage: No London Calling

Don’t let the raucous London crowd fool you.

This week’s episode of RAW wasn’t that good.

Sure, the card was huge, but with the WWE Champion Seth Rollins in action at the end of the show’s second hour, the rest of the show dragged miserably.

Triple H said on Stone Cold’s podcast a few weeks ago that the show’s third hour is the hardest to write, so why not cut it completely?

At this point, it hasn’t done much to help the show.

Although the Extreme Rules Main event between Rollins and Randy Orton will be a cool one- a No-RKO, Steel Cage match, fans will have to wait a few more weeks to be truly entertained.

Matches:

United States Champion John Cena vs. Wade Barrett: This was easily one of Barrett’s finest matches in the WWE. Hitting Cena with the Winds of Change, the Wasteland and the Bullhammer, Barrett was solid, but also sold like crazy, kicking out of most of Cena’s signature offense, including an Attitude Adjustment. However, after a Springboard Stunner, Cena hit another Attitude Adjustment for the win. After the match, Rusev took out Cena with a chain around his fist. After that, Lana announced that Rusev will take on Cena at Extreme Rules in a Russian Chain match.

Divas Battle Royal for Shot at the Divas Title: Natalya Neidhart vs. Paige vs. Alicia Foxx vs. Naomi vs. Cameron vs. Summer Rae vs. Rosa Mendez vs. Emma: Naomi and Paige were the last Divas left and after some close-calls, Paige hit a pair of Super Kicks to eliminate Naomi. After the match, Naomi beat on Paige on the outside.

The Lucha Dragons, Kalisto and Sin Chara vs. The Ascension, Viktor and Konnor: An athletic bout with plenty of high-flying offense from the Dragons and little from the powerhouses. The Dragons got the win with Kalisto’s Flipping Reverse DDT and the Senton Bomb from Sin Chara.

Randy Orton vs. WWE Tag Team Champion Antonio Cesaro w/Natalya Neidhart and Tyson Kidd: A disaster of a match that ended in a DQ, resulting in a win for Orton. Luckily, Kane hit the ramp and restarted the match as a two-on-one handicap match.

WWE Tag Team Champions Tyson Kidd and Antonio Cesaro w/Natalya vs. Randy Orton: A much better encounter that saw the Tag Champions hit a nice share of offense on Orton. But after an RKO out of nowhere, Orton got the win.

Adam Rose vs. Dean Ambrose: Rose got in virtually no offense and Ambrose got the win with the Dirty Deeds.

Stardust vs. Fandango w/Rosa Mendez: Another quick match that saw Stardust get the win with The Beautiful Disaster. After the match, Fandango dumped Mendez and brought back his old theme song.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins w/Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble vs. Kane: Rollins originally thought Kane was going to lose on purpose for him, but Kane showed he wasn’t a complete sucker. After he hit a few strikes, Kane hit the Chokeslam but pulled a beaten Rollins on top of him to take the loss.

The Miz vs. Damien Sandow w/Summer Rae: A quick match with finisher counters galore that ended with a Sandow Rollup.

Ryback vs. Luke Harper: Ryback was gearing up for the Meathook, but Harper got DQed after he hit Ryback with a part of the announce table. After the bell, Dean Ambrose hit the ring and was prepared to beat on Harper, but the former Wyatt family member was able to get out of dodge.

Adrian Neville vs. Dolph Ziggler: Neville hit all of his high-flying moves and even kicked out of the Zig-Zag. If that wasn’t enough, Neville hit a 450 on the guard rail to the outside. However, Ziggler was unable to put Neville away and after “The Man That Gravity Forgot” missed a top rope maneuver, Ziggler finished him off with the Zig-Zag. After the match, Sheamus hit the ring and knocked out Ziggler with the Brogue Kick, but Ziggler fought back on the outside before Sheamus hit another Brogue Kick on the outside.
