WWE RAW Coverage: The Price is Wrong, Seth

The lengthy opening segment of this week’s Monday night RAW felt more like “The Price is Right,” but the end result was a waste of time. It may have been entertaining, but the fact that it culminated in a weak main event at best ruined the fun entirely.

While the segment between Lana, Summer Rae, Dolph Ziggler and Rusev could get interesting and the John Cena/Cesaro match was top shelf, there weren’t enough decent moments to induce a decent pace. The end result is a show that felt incredibly flat.

Matches:

The Big Show vs. Mark Henry: Show won with the Knockout Punch in a quick and lackluster encounter between two former World Heavyweight Champions.

The Miz vs. Intercontinental Champion Ryback: Another waste of time as Ryback got the win via-count-out after The Miz ran out of the ring after a Ryback Spinebuster.

Alicia Foxx w/Divas Champion Nikki Bella and Brie Bella vs. Paige: A decent Divas match that saw Paige reverse a Foxx Rollup into a pinning combination for the win, despite interference from The Bellas.

United States Champion John Cena vs. Cesaro: A beefier encounter with plenty of offense that once again shows that Cesaro is a guy that needs a bigger role with the company. After Cena hit another sloppy Springboard Stunner, Cena went for the Attitude Adjustment, but Cesaro hit the European Uppercut for the near-fall. After Cena locked in the STF, Cesaro countered into The Sharpshooter, but Cena grabbed the ropes to break up the submission. Cena then scored near-falls with a Tornado DDT and a Swinging Face Buster. After that Cesaro fought back with the Neutralizer and strikes, as well as the Giant Swing, before locking in the Sharpshooter again. But before Cesaro could get the win, Owens interfered and hit the Pop-Up Powerbomb on both Cesaro and Cena.

Sin Cara and Kalisto and WWE Tag Team Champions Darren Young and Titus O’Neil vs. Bo Dallas, Big E. Langston, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods: A lengthy eight-man encounter that entertained thanks to a flurry of offense in the end and a Prime Time Players win after a O’Neil Sit-Down Spinebuster.

Adrian Neville vs. Sheamus: Neville fought hard, but Sheamus got the win with the Brogue Kick.

Jack Swagger vs. Wade Barrett: Swagger latched on the Patriot Lock, but Barrett escaped and won with the Bullhammer.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and Kane w/Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury vs. Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose: Rollins got the win on Ambrose thanks to the Pedigree and a Chokeslam from Kane after Bray Wyatt appeared and took out Reigns. After the match, Reigns fought back and beat on Rollins, before Kane Chokeslammed Reigns and Rollins and the rest of The Authority put him through a table. With Reigns down, Wyatt ended the show with the Sister Abigail on him.
