Ring of Honor Coverage: Nothing Special, Again

With three-filler matches and the only promo being between ROH TV and World Champion Jay Lethal and Roderick Strong, this week’s Ring of Honor continues the same formula. Sure the in-ring action is solid, but there’s no sexiness. With zero title changes to date and the obvious feeling that the show is filmed weeks before, how does Ring of Honor plan to stay on Destination America if they aren’t even trying?

With a talent exchange with New Japan and their talented roster, they have the tools to put on a one-of-a-kind show. So why won’t they?

Matches:

War Machine: Hanson and Rowe vs. The IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks: Nick Jackson and Matt Jackson: War Machine was dominant in the early going until the Bucks hit a variety of Super Kicks and double-team maneuvers on the outside. At one point, it appeared that Nick was injured, which had AJ Styles come from the back to check on him. With this, War Machine worked on Matt in the ring. Once Nick couldn’t get back in the ring, Styles took his place and inadvertently took out the referee while War Machine hit their Powerbomb combination before Nick jumped back in the match, hit a pair of Superkicks and Styles got the win with the Styles Clash.

Cedric Alexander w/Veda Scott vs. Romantic Touch: Thanks to help from Scott, Alexander got the quick win with the Lumbar Check.

Adam Cole vs, Kyle O’Reilly: These two were having a solid match before Christopher Daniels and Frank Kazarian got involved and got the match thrown out.

Impromptu: Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly vs. Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian: Cole and O’Reilly got the win via Rollup, but afterwards, the Kingdom, Bobby Fish and Chris Sabin hit the ring to leave even more questions.
