WWE RAW Coverage: Shane O Mac Returns

With WrestleMania 32 on the horizon, the WWE needs to step up and deliver with a barrage of good shows and excellent build up for the show of shows, WrestleMania 32.

The WWE has had to deal with a plethora of crushing blows to creative as a result of injuries, they have to work with what they got.

The events that transpired this week on RAW ensured a fantastic start to what seems to be a suprising and decent Mania match card. Most Wrestlemania 32 match-card predictions were a big blur of fan fiction and utter dream. But what was set on the table, and tasted tonight by the fans, seems to be settling in a good place.

This week’s RAW opened up with a colossal moment. Something wrestling fans can look back on and remember with a smile on our faces. When the presentation of the V.J.M award seemed to go to shenanigans and a cheap heel promo from Stephanie McMahon and her father and chairman of the board Vince McMahon, the unthinkable occurred. Shane McMahon returned and received one of the biggest “pops” of the last decade. A match is set up at Wrestlemania, and a huge one. The Undertaker will face Shane for control of WWE’s flagship show Monday Night Raw in Hell In A Cell. This is a big “uplift” and positive change for what we have been watching month after month and year after year, with a decisive clash of authority that will be huge.

 

Matches:
The Lucha Dragons and Neville vs. The New Day: A solid performance from everybody involved. The New Day are at it again, exploding with charisma and putting on a decent match. This match featured a excellent combination of high-flying, risk taking spots. But in the end, the New Day prevailed with Kofi Kingston hitting a Trouble in Paradise, getting the pin.

The Usos vs. The Ascension: After the Usos make their entrance, the newly heel Dudley Boyz come out to make a promo. It seems to be a sorry, not sorry ideology and basic argument from the Dudley Boyz towards the Uso’s. The Uso’s end up getting the Win, posing a threat to the legendary Dudley Boyz.

Axel and Slater vs. AJ Styles and Chris Jericho: Decent match, great combinations and general ring presence by the newly formed tag team Y2-AJ. Jericho got the win by submission.

Big Show, Kane, and Ryback vs. The Wyatt Family: An ok attempt and mildly entertaining rematch from Fastlane. After Ryback walks away from his tag team partners, Bray delivers sister Abigail and gets the pinfall.

Sasha Banks vs. Naomi: Cool match with Sasha winnning by submission. Charlotte comes out after the match, and cuts a heel promo attempted to pin Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch against each other.

Roman Reigns vs. Sheamus: This match was mediocre and filled with commonplace boos towards Reigns. HHH interrupted the main event and brawled with Reigns. The Boo’s were overwhelming, and HHH was cheered. HHH savagely opened Reigns up, blood pooled all over Reigns face. The arena was cheering HHH like he was Daniel Bryan, he was that over! The scary fact remains, HHH is the heel it shouldn’t be that way. WWE needs to do something about the main event, maybe tweak it, maybe include a legitimate baby face. Raw concluded with HHH hitting a pedigree on a absolutely bloody Roman Reigns.

Final Thoughts:

This Raw was overall a good show. It opened up with a bang and kept steady til the main event. The icing on the cake would be if the main event build up would change because it’s a fact within the wrestling fan base that we don’t want to see a face Reigns vs. HHH at WrestleMania 32. Reigns will continue to get booed, and with all the “smart marks” attending Mania its only fate that Dallas will be soaring with negative crowdd chants during that Wrestlemania main event. As a result of this Raw, Its imperative to feel like WrestleMania 32 will resemble a WCW PPV in the mid to late 1990s. It will have a entertaining under and mid card, but its overall main event will be mediocre. The sole purpose of this Raw was laying the main event foundation for WrestleMania.
