WWE Smackdown Live Coverage: End of The Wyatt’s? SS Primer

On The Road to Summerslam Coming off an impressive week of wrestling news, rumors, and Summerslam speculation the WWE and more importantly the Smackdown brand continued to usher in the new era.

The go home show to Summerslam finalized the hype train of set matches for one of the big six events in WWE’s pay-per-view tenure. The three big WrestleMania worthy matches Smackdown has set for Summerslam are what can make Summerslam one of the greatest performed. Following a lackluster WrestleMania, many wrestling fans wonder if this event can make up for the colossal disappointment the 32 edition of WrestleMania truly was. There is not a shadow of a doubt that Smackdown hasn’t really been better than Raw starting off the brand extension, is the ship being turned around?

Smackdown opened up with Randy Orton signing the contract for his Summerslam match with RAW exclusive Brock Lesnar. The undrafted Heath Slater interrupted, and threw an apple at Orton. The match was set. Immediately following that segment, the Miz began Miz TV with the champion and the challenger. Both Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose delivered heated and emotional promo’s truly making the Smackdown Main Event a must-watch. The segment ended with Ziggler hitting Ambrose with a SuperKick. During the commercial following Miz TV, the challenger for Miz’s title Apollo Crews, hit Miz with a Spin-Out Powebomb.

American Alpha: Jason Jordan and Chad Gable, Jimmy and Jey Uso ans The Hype Bros: Zack Ryder and MojoRawley vs. Breezango: Tyler Breeze and Fandango, The Vaudvillians: Simon Gotch and Aiden English and The Ascension: Viktor and Konnor: A cliché tag match, not a supreme supplier of anything different. Chad Gable got the win for American Alpha.

The WWE continues the Eva Marie match cancelling trilogy, as she was stuck in traffic and couldn’t compete against Naomi.

Becky Lynch, Carmella and Naomi vs. Natalya and Alexa Bliss: As Eva Marie arrived late during this match due to traffic, this cliche women’s tag team bout ended with Lynch tapping out Natalya with the Disarmer.

Randy Orton vs Heath Slater: One sided domination from Orton, as The Viper mocked Lesnar replicating his signature German Suplexes, getting the win with the RKO.

After the match, Shane McMahon offered Slater a contract, knocked out and confused Slater mistook Shane for Mick Foley and took the contract.

Dean Ambrose vs. Erick Rowan: Ambrose won with Dirty Deeds, before Bray walked out on Rowan. Could this be the end of the Wyatt family?

John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio: With A.J Styles on commentary John Cena defeated Del Rio, all control vanished after the match as both Styles and Cena brawled to close the show. Cena put Styles through the announce table with his finishing Attitude Adjustment.
