WWE RAW Coverage: The Club is Back Together

Asuka beats Alexa Bliss. Roman Reigns beats Samoa Joe. Finn Balor reunites with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. Kane Chokeslams Brock Lesnar and he laughs it off

This was a solid episode of RAW that actually managed to get people excited. Add it the blossoming drama and silliness of Jason Jordan and Seth Rollins and this was a great way to start the year, even if the end of the show felt a bit flat.

Matches:

WWE RAW Tag Team Champion Jason Jordan w/WWE RAW Tag Team Champion Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro w/Sheamus: Cesaro worked on Jordan’s legs throughout, but after Rollins took out Sheamus on the outside, Jordan hit the Grand Amplitude for the win. A definite learning lesson for Jordan, Rollins isn’t impressed with Jordan’s cockiness.

Apollo Crews w/Titus O’Neil and Dana Brooke vs. Bray Wyatt: Brooke and O’Neil caused a distraction that almost gave a very game Crews the win, but Wyatt countered Crews’ finisher into the Sister Abigail for the victory. After the match, Matt Hardy shot some promo and promised Wyatt he was always around him.

Non-Title: WWE RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss vs. Asuka: Bliss was dominant at times, but Asuka got the win with the Armbar in a match that dragged at times but began to lay the seeds in their eventual Wrestlemania matchup.

Braun Strowman vs. Rhyno w/Heath Slater: Strowman squashed both Rhyno and Slater, getting the win over the former ECW Champion with the Running Powerslam. After the match, Strowman delivered a hearty helping of Powerslams to both Rhyno and Slater.

Intercontinental Champion Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe: Reigns fought Joe and the need within himself to do over the edge against Joe, but he couldn’t put Joe away. After the referee almost DQed Reigns for accidentally hitting him, Joe almost won with a Urinage Suplex, but Reigns got the win with the Spear.

Goldust and Cedric Alexander vs. Drew Gulak and Ariya Daivari: A fun aside that saw Goldust surprise with some high-flying maneuvers and Alexander win with the Lumbar Check.

Finn Balor, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson vs. Elias Sampson, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel: The Club squashed their opponents as a Magic Killer and the Coup De Grace sent Dallas and company packing.
