NXT UK Results: Devlin Rising

NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament is underway. This week we have the last two quarter-final matches pitting Xia Brookside against Rhea Ripley and Tony Storm versus Isla Dawn. In the main event, Jordan Devlin and Ligero will clash. Both of these competitors have been on a tear recently, picking up several singles wins respectively. It’s only a matter of time before they announce the first NXT UK: TakeOver, and oh boy will that be a card.

Matches:

Xia Brookside vs. Rhea Ripley:

Rhea Ripley is easily the most intimidating figure in the NXT UK Women’s Division. Ripley used her overwhelming strength to take control early, but the second generation superstar is no slouch between the ropes. Brookside fought hard, but The Mosh Pit Kid was too much, picking up the win with a Pump-Handle Powerslam joining Jinny and Dakota Kai in the semi-final round.

Eddie Dennis vs. Jack Starz

Standing at six-foot, six inches, Dennis towers over most of the UK roster. The former headmaster is a beast. Starz is feisty, firing off several European Uppercuts. Dennis capitalized on a whiffed Missile Dropkick, slamming Starz with a Crucifix Buckle-Bomb and a Neck-Stop Driver for the one-two-three.

Mark Andrews vs. “Wild Boar” Mike Hitchman

Andrews played a game of hit-and-run with the bigger man, firing up with the crowd behind him. The High-Flyer took a beating from Hitchman, finding himself on the receiving end of several brutal Sentons. However, he took to the skies with a picturesque Shooting Star Press and put Hitchman down for the win.

Isla Dawn vs. Toni Storm

Storm is the favorite to win the NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament thanks to her impressive victory over Io Shirai in the finals of this year’s Mae Young Classic. Dawn wasted little time, hitting a flurry of offense as soon as the bell rung. Dawn put up an impressive fight, keeping Storm down for most of the match. Unfortunately, she made the mistake of taking a moment to talk trash. Storm made her pay by hitting Storm Zero, pinning Dawn and advancing to the semi-finals.

Jordan Devlin vs. Ligero

Ligero may be from Ledes, but he most definitely has the spirit of a luchador. The crowd was firmly behind Ligero, filling the arena with chants of his name. This was a highly competitive bout, as both men brought their A-game, trading blow after blow. These two tore the house down, and after fifteen minutes Devlin managed to rock Ligero with a Fireman’s Carry Sidewalk Slam to win this fantastic bout.
